Would totally buy. Day 1 PO.

Although part of me would be mad that instead of literally any of the ppl MyenShi pictured in his post, we got this guy first. Still want him tho.

None of these new armor changes are really doing it for me, especially that puffier thorax armor. I DO prefer the new, sleeker boots though. They just look nicer.

I don’t think I’ve disliked a figure on principle more than this one.

And where the heck is the rest of Clone Force 99? Or any Clone Commando. Gregor, Scorch, Weyland, unpainted; doesn’t matter. Give us at least one.

If Tech and Wrecker aren’t up around The Bad Batch Season 2, we’re going to have a problem.

If we ever got even a basic clone Commando, I think I would kriffing lose it. Not even a named trooper, just a basic white Commando would do it.

I don't think we will be seeing Tech or Wrecker up for PO before late spring/early summer of next year.

I’m really surprised by how many seem to dislike this so strongly. I mean yes it’s got differences when compared with a standard 501st, but it’s still a decent Clone in my view.

He's okay, but definitely backburnered due to the color scheme. I just find the cobalt blue so much prettier than the teal. It pleases my eye more.

I'm not totally hating on this guy, but waiting for a sale and fewer prior commitments on my plate is whats going to happen. I'd really rather put that money toward Crosshair, Hunter and Tech.

The TCW 501st (especially that deluxe set) was a huge hit with collectors, it just sold out a few months back and now instead of another army builder, they throw another grunt 501st on the market with a new and uglier color scheme.

It's one thing when Hasbro offered a zillion skittles-inspired colors with endless clone figures...they were cheap (relatively speaking) and filled the pegs up for the army building collectors. Even Sideshow went to the well several times with repaints, but they were WAY less expensive and were inspired by different regiments and battalions and still display well today.

This just screams license-holder mandate to prop up their content in the least creative way. The figure's subtitle "As seen in..." is just cheap and lame.
All that's missing is the cheesy voice-over line " And NOW what would you pay? But wait! There's more!"

Cheers to those that want to jump into this deep rabbit er, foxhole with these endless repaints....just too expensive to support HT with this madness.

It’s more accurate to the movie. With some slight armor changes, which I’m no fan of.

For me, they could’ve just changed the color of the previous release and call it a day.

It’s definitely not. The changes the Kenobi props made make this version even further removed from the ROTS design.

Are you referring to just the paint? In which case the more teal blue isn’t really accurate to the film either.

I'm not a clone collector, but I do get the frustration. Also, just from a visual standpoint, the original 501st darker blue and heavier weathering just looks so much cooler IMO.

@DarkChocobi - Could you change the thread title to remove “Version 2.0” since this is technically Version 1.0 of the OWK 501st.

And 2.0 makes it sound like an upgrade. This feels more like a downgrade.

BTW those armor changes are due to using real people in armor, not CGI.
