Still better than anything HT has done, so IDGAF about the head size.
The figures are not exactly aligned, nor are they (at all) angled the same way towards the camera. Barrel distortion on wide angle lenses such as the one used there in a close-up frame do induce a lot of distortion pretty fast. Also, to our eye, the line on the cowl going right to left, downwards, does make it look thinner than it is (we know that as you say from other pics, the cowl is pretty good as is), exacerbating the look of Joker’s big head in the pic (actually I see a thin Batman to be honest).Perspective affects things in a similar part of the frame more or less equally. If perspective or distortion were causing his head to look too big then Batman’s head should look too big too, but it doesn’t, and we know it is accurately sized.

Heath did seem to have a large/tall head but I can’t shake the feeling that these heads are too blocky for the scale. Here you can see it’s still a tiny bit shorter than the cowl. If it’s off it’s not by much but it only takes a little to make it seem off. It doesn’t ruin the figure for me, but it does seem to look a little goofy if not photographed well. Excited to see how I feel in person.

I don’t order much from them anymore but I have ordered quite a few figures the past few years and I never had any issues with themI just put a cancellation request in for my InArt Joker. After almost being sick from what I’ve read about TW throughout this thread. So there should be a rooted version back up for sale.
Real question: because I’ve heard both horror stories and then others saying nothing bad,
Is TW really that bad? As of now I have a bunch of POs on their site along with Comic Sanctorum.
My first ever order from TW arrived fast and now orders I placed a month or two ago still say “Sender is preparing item for posting”
I can’t imagine they won’t send things, so the horror is that they’ll come late?
My shipping costs seemed reasonable for how cheap the figures were, so I guess I’m trying to find where the horror lies?
I think it was 1096 for mine.Which is the total price of the Deluxe Rooted 2 pack edition at OneSixthKit? I think the preorder was 96$ but I don't remember the total price.
My favourite line from all of this wasIt is indeed lens distortion and posture. To all those saying it’s too big, just take measurements for goodness sakes. Even compared to to real Heath (had to check due to this insane, insanely good I mean, funny and psychologicaly interesting thread) proportions are there, take a ruler and compare it with a Heath Ledger Joker full body frame.
I studied cinematography and know quite a bit about lenses, distortion, eye perception, and how our mind screws up. Best “easy” way to explain what’s going on is this:
BTW, that guy is equally realistic at both 16 and 200mm. Do you know thad dude or dudette you saw online, how they never (ever, ever, ever) look like they did on Instagram? Same thing here. For big, real people, we look better at a distance with a 20-35mm (hence Instagram). For smaller things, it will look weird if you are used to cinema look, which is almost always above 50mm. And guess what? TDK was mostly filmed with a 50mm and an 80mm lens on medium format, other lenses used were a 110 and a 180.
And if anyone of you is thinking “Ok, then we should just take a pic of the 1/6 figure with a 50mm and that would be it”… well no. Distance matters, lens quality matters… Are you bored already? Just wait until you get the d… thing, you’ll be happy, believe me. The day I get mine (if that day ever comes I mean, I still can’t believe that thing will make it to my little island) I’ll try to be as scientific as possible to show you its true proportions.
wait till we receive it in hand, some pictures make the head look big but I don't think it is the case here
off topic to big head and small head, anyone thinks the eyes can be improved with inart's? they started fresh so there's still plenty of room to be improved in certain aspects, specifically the eye that I think they might've fixed with aragorn's prototype but that is a prototype and not a production piece. lighting plays a big factor, but the iris transition just feels too harsh. thailand joker picture and kilmer eyes for reference

I still think it's the rooted hair that's making the head look "big". An artist rooted the sculpted InArt head and it doesn't have the puffy look that the hair on the rooted IA version has.

That doesn't really look at all different than how Inart did their rooted hair though? Honestly looks like the exact same amount of "big" but maybe I'm missing something.I still think it's the rooted hair that's making the head look "big". Might not be as close up as Aragorn but we do have good clear images of the face from the photo reviews we've seen like below:I still haven't seen a good picture of Joker's eyes. I would like to see a shot of Joker's face that is as hi-rez as the pictures be distributed of Aragorn's face.
This is just from Viper not washing his handsThanks for those.
Actually found a really neat detail -- check the make-up smear on the jacket collar! Now that's attention to detail!!!

Unfortunately less attention was paid to the jacket color.
Skin texture is incredible! Not something you see on many figures. Thanks for those.

I ordered from Spec fiction before Christmas, so it was in stock. Toys Wonderland gave me a full refund back to my PayPal which is nice. Although before I used their cancellation portal I wrote to customer service trying to cancel that way and they wrote back saying I would be refunded in store credit. I will have to see it my points were restored. I think the mini handcuffs come with the deluxe anyway, as you know judging by the lil laughing face!I thought SpecFic only had a waitlist now? I know they also made the claim of a "bonus part" if ordered by a certain date
Yeh it’s funny because I basically put a lot of orders in because I like Justin’s Reviews, and he says order from them. Makes me feel better though because after seeing their prices it made me regret buying things from sideshow and other us based companies. Now I feel a little better although some of the figures were a little expensive on Sideshow and now are on sale or can be found cheap on eBay. I think that’s all part of the hobby though, sometimes you win sometimes you lose. Seems they refunded me to PayPal although the customer service email said it would be store credit. They’ll send it, but don’t expect anything to arrive quickly. I’m doing the same with all my InArt purchases (inc. rooted Joker) from them as I just don’t trust them with such high value figures. Going to spend all the credit on in-stock Hot Toys and have done with the company. Just be aware if it’s more than 30 days since you bought Joker with them that they’ll only give you store credit. Just remember with store credit to spend it all in one go as the coupon only lasts once and they’ll refuse to return any remaining balance to you. I’ve never had any major issues with them, but people who have YouTube channels (ie Justin) should be ashamed of themselves for promoting them the way they do.
