The sculpted hair is a major factor. It’s big.
Same goes for the rooted depending on how it's styled. Seems like it's pretty puffy out of the box, the hair is the only reason why I can't say for sure if it's truly oversized yet until I get it in hand. I mean other than the nose it looks about the same size as Adam's sculpt

Sorry for the lousy ipad screen captures, but I insist: lenses, posing and camerawork are over exagerating the head’s size on those pictures a lot. It’s a fact that we are seeing a whole ton of variation on a per-image bases, so I’d stay chill. It’s no funko bubble head. It might be slightly over sized? Maybe. Can’t say for sure. Is it over emphasized due to the picture itself? Definitely.

True. But that's also bad futzing right there. Look at his puffed waistcoat to help reduce the head scale :lol

I like how every time the figure looks off, it’s been 90% from Justin’s video and not the other hundreds of review photos we’ve gotten. :lol

The head is probably a bit oversized but nothing like that bobble head photo posted. Futzing, angle of the head + hair futzing plays a big part in it.

Eh, personally I’ve noticed it in every review/set of photos. I’m just too lazy to do screenshots and post them. Only time I’ve seen the heads look in scale is with InArts own videos, like the recent “how to futz your Joker” video they did. And that is because their videos are all showing off the prototypes, not the actual final production figures (at least there was no mention in the video that I saw of it being a production piece).

Also, if it was simply a case of lens distortion or something else with Justin’s videos then one might expect to notice the same problem with many if not most of the figures he reviews, which I know I certainly haven’t.

I guess most people don’t seem to notice, but I personally don’t consider it a minor nitpick for figures in this price range. Hopefully it is easy to minimize with futzing and such in hand. Btw another “grail” figure with a massive bobble head, one I used to own, was the Hot Toys Tarkin. But I’ve hardly ever seen that complaint come up online. But compare that final product to the original prototype photos and you’ll never unsee it.

Funny you mention Tarkin because I notice that with mine every time I look at him. Still a good likeness though.

The Joker's overized head doesn't kill the figure for me. I still think it's superb, and you can't notice from a lot of angles, or when he's in his coat, but hope Inart bear it in mind going forward.

a look in how the mechanism looks. looks like where the hinges are, the piece/rod is metal from the shine?

I followed this instruction today to see the mechanisms for my self but now the back of my head is bleeding... Help

If it’s all the lens and angle then why does it seem to only affect the head? The distortion should follow a bell curve to the center of the frame.

Shall we rename InArt to BobbleArt? Or call the figure the Bobble Jokor.

If perfectly angled (looks slightly high angled) and vertically aligned (it‘s obviously towards the top of the fig, look at the even more obvious distortion towards the base), and there was no crop tricking our view, that would hold true (not only the lens, but the figure shouldn’t have a tilt to it either), but it is not. Barrell distortion is not only center-framed, but parallel to the focal plane, and that is where I believe the issue relies. The fact that the thing stands in a vacuum makes it harder to judge angles and what not.

Besides architectural photography lessons, I repeat: head might be slightly bigger than scale. You did see that on pics in which I wouldn’t say it was that noticeable if at all. But it definitely is not to the extent of what that image makes it look like - otherwise everyone would have noticed, and would have easily been seen in other pics or videos. I have no issues on standing corrected once I get mine mind you - I will take pics of it and will follow this discussion which I find quite interesting.

Edit: More pics from Justin’s videos, trying to grab as bad a pose as possible, rooted version. In this case the focal plane is further away from the lens, which contributes to less distortion. See a difference? Especially interesting since the jail gives as a lot of information in regards to camera angle and vertical position. I’d say it looks a lot better than the other pic. Also futzing would help.

I still believe this whole figure is specially thought out for the coat look, and some issues appear with the other one.

I do think the head is big (but not the eyes), but also that it seems worse on Justin's videos. There was a video a few pages back where the figure looked ASTOUNDING. (the one where he separated out the sculpted hair and tried to fix the eye gaps)

Maannnnn super late to this party!! I don't have time to keep up with the forum like the good ol days so I've been pretty out of tune with InArt as a whole. I'm just kinda catching up with all things InArt over the last couple days. Caught up on the last 25 pages here and don't have time to do much more so please be gentle with my noob questions LOL.

I didn't see it at first but the more reviews I watch the more it's pretty apparent that the head looks pretty large without the coat and when viewing from the side. Looks better from the front view without the coat and all they way around with the coat on. Bummer but not a deal breaker. The fig still looks killer overall!

Just learning that TW isn't the reputable source that I thought they were. Is Maxnut a solid source for this?
