Not the best pics by any means so please don’t be too harsh I’ll style more whenever I actually try to lighten up the hair, but this is the result after last night’s messing about and the hair now being dry. Tried to get as close to the styling of the proto as I could.

That looks great, Gipetto. And for always saying how you can't take good photos, these do a perfect job at showing what you did. I was expecting some blurry underlit photos from weird angles.

That came out looking awesome,took some balls to do it,but you trusted the process and it came out even better than how you got it,well done

Yes I ordered the single standard version of the figure because I could not find a rooted two pack except on eBay with ridiculous prices

I'm still looking for a standard figure. Anyone know where I can buy one?

Thanks! And no, it really is that there is so much product in the hair. It’s almost like how some women with curly/wavy hair will straighten it then add some product to keep it straighten, but once they wash it out, their hair goes back to being wavy. Similar concept here. Once you “wash” out the hair some, it will naturally want to curl/wave. My jail headsculpt was similar to that “before” pic you posted prior to spending some time messing with the hair.

You accomplished that with a little time and patience, and to think some people are hundreds to have it rooted again to accomplish that same exact look.

You are probably better off playing the waiting game and waiting for the extras Kit or Spec Fiction put back up after they get their preorders out.

I'm probably going to use my DX01 grenade rig due to the weight for the coat

I just came here to say I'm thinking about hunting the DX01 rig down.
The die-cast version is useless to me. I know people like this stuff, but if there's one thing I really could have done without its the die-cast items. It really isn't necessary and doesn't immediately equate to "quality" for me. Though I think it does for others.

So you washed some of the product out? And then what? It looks great. I'm looking to do something similar to yours, and maybe some coloring.

haha thanks! I'm ok at headshots I guess. Probably b/c I used to do headsculpt paint commissions in college for some extra money and needed to take decent photos to send to clients. But, when it comes to full body, for whatever reason, I'm very 2000s flip-phone quality even though I have an iPhone 13 pro

So you washed some of the product out? And then what? It looks great. I'm looking to do something similar to yours, and maybe some coloring.

From my previous posts a page back:

• I used a small, soft paintbrush, some water and tweezers to really help out the hair on the jail sculpt. There's SO much product that the hair looked a little matted. Getting some water in there reactivates the product though, so you'll need to regularly wash the gunk out of your paintbrush and tweezers. Some loose hairs will come out but nothing major. End result looks a lot better and more like the proto in terms of shape/style.

It wasn’t a quick process I can tell you that. Took about 45mins of using the brush to get the water into the hair, then using the tweezers to slowly pull the hair apart. Back and forth until I got it how I wanted it. Since the product gets reactivated with the water, the hair will get a “tacky” feeling until it dries, so I made sure to have the head held firmly on the canister post as I worked on it.

The product in the hair is really weighing it down. Working with it with water, soft bristle paint brush to work the water in, and then tweezers and toothpick for styling and “combing” some of the product out, will get you those results. The hair wants to naturally curl on its own once you start getting some of the product out.

Does anybody think its a good idea to use blu tac instead of foam to pad out the shoulders for example and then wrapping it with cling film? What do you think @Chopper Face

Horrible idea blu tac will end up sticking to the clothes and body when the heat hits, obvioulsy you can keep him in a tempeture controlled room but using foam is safer for the materials and easier to remove then blu tac.

You definitely don’t want the blu tac to make contact with the clothing. The ‘tac’ aspect will seep through and ruin everything so it would demand the film wrapping. It would be easier than foam to shape and stick to the body but, eventually it’ll dry out, harden and probably damage the body.
Also, unlike foam, it would retain any indentations from compressing parts while redressing and posing so what may start off looking like a perfect anatomical recreation of the human form could end up a deformed mess if not treated carefully.

I’d really like to pose him him cautiously backing out of the mob meeting with his grenade rig.

Wasn't planning on selling but if it ends up going for silly money I can probably make do with the purple coat figure.

I think the eye is a bit misaligned, is it easy to fix?

People who have it in hand, can you confirm if the eyes look as bad as in the pictures? I know from experience pictures bring up the worst details for obvious reasons, but the glassy distanced eyes with the mask eye sockets aren't looking great in a lot of the pictures. Worries for the future releases...

This is how I have mine displayed for awhile now. It's definitely doable.

• Hooray! I DON'T have 2 left arms on one of my bodies! I completely disrobed the figure and found that the screw for the hinge joint at the shoulder was so tight that it was preventing any real movement, causing the shoulder to stick out in an odd way. Took the plug out, slightly loosened the screw, and it's perfect now.

I completely undressed and redressed Joker today as well, and noticed exactly the same on mine. Both lower arms say L, and his left shoulder hinge joint was way too tight so it could barely move. Loosening the screw did the trick. Would definitely recommend others to do the same if they are having problems with the shoulder.

I've been doing some more work on Joker and took some new shots.
I opened up the hair strands with a hairdryer as per the InArt video and removed the joystick so I can move the eyes separately. Small changes, but it does make a difference overall. I didn't remove the neck spacer so far, as I feel his neck length looks proportionate, but I might remove it if I change up the pose with the head tilted higher.
