@Wor-Gar any tips on soaking Jedi cloaks? I know some people use warm water and others use room temperature. Some only use water but others add more substances. What works in your experience?

I soaked only one Jedi cloak and I didn't use anything but hot water (not boiling, just hot tap). A friend used a little dab of dish soap on his (liquid from a bottle). I think its the warm water that clears out the dye -- the soap just makes the cloak "clean".

For Jedi robes, give them a good crunch in your fist while they're wet. Makes it look wrinkly and ragged once dried. It may be easier to put the cloak on once dried, but then you'll want to spritz the cloak again with water from a spray bottle to dampen it so you can shape it -- make the sleeves sag with weight, create those rolls around the floor. It's a lot of fun to futz when you can actually shape the material.

Stunning figure. Harsh lighting is about the only thing wrong with it. Hopefully the sculpted hair version ships soon.

This is why he shouldn't been allowed to handle any of them. Everyone's complaints for all figures have been because of his videos. Lmao I mean granted some still need work as so if we stated what needed fixing that's fine. But jeez he really didn't do no favors for them. Smh

I have to say I rely heavily on Justin's video reviews on figures as a good way to tell how they look -- if they look good under his conditions then I'm certain they will look good in hand, and I'm not saying that as a back-handed comment. The lightbox is unforgiving so it is a good test.

But it is not something that is good for previews -- especially being the only preview with nothing to balance it against. I usually watch 3-4 videos to get a good idea what to expect of a product. I can't say any single reviewer has a perfect set-up. I can say every reviewer spends way too much time talking though. I've never been able to watch a review from start to finish without fast-forwarding.

There needs to be "that guy" who does the "3 Minute Review"... and call it that, and do that. And show the figure indoors and outdoors in daylight.

Lol. Justin videos have always been the same. Mark 85, DX 19, Boba fett etc. List goes on. Those figures were excellent and no one had issues with the lighting etc.

Now the inart has been reviewed and it’s not good as the prototype , people think it’s Justin’s fault. I have the sculpted one on preorder but debating on cancelling.

The head is big , eyes too small and the purple jacket looks like a towel. Cool weapons and magnet system though.

It’s not Justin, it’s the figure peeps.
Cancel. But I think your going to regret it when you see pictures in the hands of a photographer who knows what their doing.

Now Im not defending any side yet. But it is clear to me that justins set up is 100% causing it to look worse then it is

Think this dual eyeball system is going to annoy a lot of collectors. Singular control would have been better.
I think I will be annoyed too and the singular was the way to go dammit

The pennywise smiling head can have its eyes go in different directions I wonder if that figure has singular joysticks

I have 4 robes to soak. Luke Anakin Obi and Qui Gon. I need to get to work

I disagree. His lighting hasn’t ruined the other figures I mentioned.

If you’re dropping 1k on figures , it should be near perfect. People keep comparing this to the DX 11 which is unfair.

Completely agree. There is value in justins cookie cutter set up because in a dean knight video any figure will look good with the precision lighting. It will hide its flaws. When I need to make up my mind about a figure I need to see it in many different conditions. Natural light.. studio light.. and so on..

The only problem here is justin did not just give us a look at the figure. He gave us THE look at the figure. But imagine if they sent it to different reviewers at the same time with different styles..
