I did myself some modifications and repaint to my Sideshow Indy. I used Soldier Story body and finally I get some Newline boots that are awesome!! Also I changed Sideshow buckle for the Medicom's metal one.
I need to get some better holster and give him some dirt.

Rogerbee I not 100% happy with the PF hat as I think it sits to high on the forehead, I have one of Lonnies older hats and it does look good I'll post pics tonight of the two and let you guys decide.

Thanks Hemble!! I follow you time ago at the Figure Realm and you are a master making Indys, so that means so much for me coming from you. Thank you!

Thanks Ron, it'll be interesting too see that.

Aneses:

You seem to have pushed the head down too far. Does your Soldier Story neck have a ball on the end of the neck pin, or conical pin? Mine had a conical pin so I cut the very end off this part of a felt tipped pen:

I mean the ridged end. I stuck this onto the pin and it made the head sit at just the right height. What I would suggest is that you look at this thread from OSW:

https://www.onesixthwarriors.com/fo...ussion/89911-my-custom-1-6-indiana-jones.html

It shows the head on an S2 at the right height and they tell you how they did it. I think I also said about mine in it too.

Hope this makes sense

Rogerbee

Here are the two hats and after looking at them again I think teh lonnie one would be perfect.

Ron

Actually no, the shape of Lonnie's is all wrong. Trevor's looks a lot closer in terms of shape. It'll look a lot better when painted. It's surprising what difference the colour can make. The original SSC one was too dark, but it looks great when painted a lighter colour.

Thank you so so much Rogerbee!!! I did it and I'm much more content with my Indy now! That's unbelivable how such a minor modification makes him look much better.
Thanks again!!!

No problem, only too happy to help.

The only reason I changed mine to an HT body was that he was too short next to my Henry.

Hemble: That Indy is looking great Ron, I know what you mean about the hat, I used the 1/6 figure hat in the end as I thought the PF hat looked a bit too 'pimp' - love the workstation by the way, I like the way you have your paints organised.

Aneses: your Indy looks superb, even better with Rogers neck mod.

Rogerbe can you do that neck mod with SS bodies that have a ball on the end? I've finally managed to get myself an Indiana and I'd love to swop bodies too.

Not entirely sure on that one. If you're not going to handle him that much, you could just put a wad of Blu Tack or similar into the recess in the head and push down until you're happy with the height.

Thanks for that. I'll have to get a body and just try it. Is the body you used not made with neck joins like that anymore?

Does anyone with Newline boots have a hard time getting Indy to stand on his own? I use TT feet but they swim in the boots and he has a tendency to fall forward. Any tips would be appreciated.

It took some time, but I was able to get a solid stance on mine with the newlines. It helps to press down on the toes of the boots to keep the TT feet level with the soles of the shoes while you position them.

I filled mine with cotton, so that the TT feet are nice and snug in there. It works pretty good! Also try and angle the peg so that the heel is more toward the back of the ankle.... if that makes sense.

The Soldier Story S2 is only different in that the neck pin has changed from the pin type to the ball type.

If you intend Indy to stand alone then this is a good body to use. I switched to a Hot Toys body as the SSC Henry Jones I had him next to would have been a lot taller once I'd finished with him. Harrison Ford is only about an inch shorter than Sean Connery in real life.

Hi All

Cavlcade - Cheers mate the HS sculpt is awesome and thanks about the desk setup, the paint racks are a god send and were really cheap.

Aneses - That now looks perfect and Rogerbee thanks for the tip it will come in handy.

Rogerbee - Mate yep you were right buddy and the PF hat looks pefect especially when painted up.
