I decided that my Indy needed much darker eyebrows and beard to give him that classic Raiders look. Please excuse my painting - I’m not that great at it - and I hope that Mark doesn’t feel like I’ve just ruined a piece of art!! I think he looks better now, to my eyes at least...

It's amazing how different that sculpt looks from different paint ups

I'm still thinking, that M.J. Choi has by far the best likeness of all the sculpts over the years in here. Not for any special Indy movie, but for Indy as an iconic character in general.

Having owned quite a few of the custom Indy sculpts over the years, my current "hero" version is using the MJ sculpt with a different paint job. Although the sculpt is a little large, it works well with the Kato gear I've had for years. I do have to say, the details on the original MJ head are unbelievably good. I am pretty happy with how he looks now.

Could you post a picture of your Indy Mr. E? It sounds great.

I think the MJ Choi is the best but I also like the Trevor Grove Sideshow one after a repaint. I have that on my German disguise Indy and think it looks great.

I use the same sculpt on my Raiders, Temple and Last Crusade custom Indy's. I got them online a while back and they are smaller than the MJ Choi and Treasure Hunter sculpts.

Yes I don't think his stubble was ever as heavy in any of the other movies. Whenever I picture Indy I always think of him with the heavy stubble.

I have now picked up the Force Awakens Han Solo sculpt after seeing how good it looked on Timemeddler's old Indy. It previously had the old Deckard head that I bought online and I will still keep it to sometimes switch them around or make yet another old Indy.

I thought the hair was too long on the Han Solo sculpt so I trimmed it right down and sliced off the back of his head and using modelling clay I replaced it and then painted it.

I will probably work on the stubble a bit more but I'm happy with how he looks.

Here is my old Deckard head next to the modifield Han Solo head. The Solo head is a bit bigger and fits better with all my other custom Indy figures although I really like both sculpts.

I have very basic painting skills (although I am getting better!) and have found a good technique for the stubble on my figures. I just take a little bit of black or brown paint and apply it and then using my finger I smudge it in. If there is too much I simply put the skin colour over the top and smudge that. I recommend doing that anyway as it looks really natural when you do it. All my Indy sculpts have the texture of stubble which does most of the work for you and you just need to add a little something extra to really make it come to life.

My favorite is Inigo V2 hands down. It really doesn't get any better than this imo. MJs is great for a bit older Indy..maybe Last Crusade. But for most iconic or "hero" version Inigo V2 for me.View attachment 426193

100% agree mate! Here’s one of my three Inigou V2s, painted by Mark Simpson.

I got the Han Solo sculpt from eBay Timemeddler. It does indeed look different from your one.

I have two of the Inigo with hair and for me there is something off about it. I should have one with the hat coming soon so I will see if that version is better.

That is the best sculpt, and that’s the best paint job on that sculpt I’ve seen yet, perfect!
