Looks good. Nice solid work.

I find taking pics with my phone, especially with the flash on always shows up any mistakes I have made. That's why I try and hide it when I paint. Ha ha.

I find it quite tricky painting brown or hazel eyes as they often tend to look too dark and blend with the pupil too much. I usually end up lightening then up a bit so the pupil is more noticeable. With my Indy's there is usually more green than brown in the eyes.

I think it's the photography as much as the paint that sets Jake's work apart. That's probably a lot closer to how the actual head looks. It's best to take shots from a slight distance then crop to what you need. All too many headshots taken from close up have a fish eye distortion to them, this often elongates faces, and indeed hats, which is why some shots of the V3 look the way they do.

On to hazel eyes and I have them myself. I usually go into art shops and ask the assistant to find a pastel that matches my eyes. I have a couple of close matches too.

Yes I agree. There is something slightly off with it in my opinion. It would be good if there were pictures from more angles. Also what's the deal with these commissions? Who do you need to know to get in on them? You would think at least one person on this dedicated Indy board would be on that list. If I had to name one it would be Luis. Lol.
Just read through the pages I missed. Lol I can say I've found to always wait for good things and this is one of them. The sculpt is amazing.

@Rogerbee
Thanks for that contact information.

@Luisenigma1
You sure kept that one quiet Luis. Did you have to sign some kind of disclosure agreement?

In other news I moved my custom The Thing Jed dog next to my Young Indiana Jones. I think his dog has more black markings but I could always paint that on another version.

Nice find on the blanket Rzeznikk. Is there any chance you can take some pictures of Indy on the horse from different angles like one side on as in the image from the movie? Also how do you find posing him on it? Is it quite tricky?

It isn't bad, looks a tad small to me though.
If one wants to nitpic, sure, might be. But if you find a more suitable one, let me know.

These were from awhile back, I have my General Maximus mounted on the horse at the moment.

I can’t believe where I’m at with my Indy figure now. Years ago, doesn’t feel too long ago, but what I thought was a great Indy back then and what I have now is ridiculous. The advances made in the hobby are incredible. I’ve never been more proud of my figure. I wonder where we will be in another 10 years..E20FC6CD-9627-4107-8819-98C9DE0931F6.jpeg
