Or who knows maybe DID will give us an incredible "Archeologist" someday. And we would have pretty much a perfect Indy from them. Just source a better sculpt.
That would actually be pretty cool! Their tailoring is pretty top notch for mass production IMO.

Ideally, he would just need a body and headsculpt change. They don't currently have a body with seamless neck and chest yet as far as I know. He'd probably have real leather boots too. Only problem might be the scale of them.

Nice Zundapp motorcycle with sidecar here from DID if anyone is looking to upgrade the 21st Century version.

Hi all, I usually stick to 1/6 Star Wars but I got asked to do a Raiders belt kit for a friend and it snowballed into doing some other stuff. He's a WIP and far from perfect but he has a couple of nice bits. Stien Jensen head sculpt with a Mark Simpson paint job is the crown jewel on this one, Emiliano Franco Whip is just amazing too. JX-S01 body. Shirts HT but I'm not sure if the Jacket is HT or SS. Trousers are Captain Raffi WW2 pilots and boots are printed. I did my own leatherwork for the belt kit, satchel strap and 3d modelled and printed the Great Circle bits and the Transit/Theodolite from Raiders. I need to work on the Dio space too He's got a shoulder holster under there too with the Browning HP in it

@Rzeznikk, great pose and set-up! :rock

Where did you get the basket? I’ve been trying to find one for ages for my SOC display.
Thanks, I actually made it myself by cutting up an old dinner placemat we had and carefully cut and glued it around a 1:6 barrels I had. Then made the lid the same way.

Digging through my box of Indy parts, I noticed my Toribox jacket is sticky/tacky. So much for customs using "high-end" materials.

It's always been pleather. As soon as I heard she uses pleather I sold it. Won't buy anything custom that's still using it. At those prices? Forget it.

Somebody wasn't being honest.

🤷‍♂️
Usually if it's real leather they say genuine leather. But yeah it all around sucks when these custom runs cost so much to begin with and then having them disintegrate over time is a real kick in the Sankara stones.

I've been shying away from posting on here, in part as I really want a better camera to match the standards of others such as @Rzeznikk. But I just realised that forums are better for long-form pieces of writing, which I do a lot of.

Here is my new and probably final body build for my second Crusade Indy. I'm cursed with him as the hat broke again like my first one. I need to try to pry it off, it's super tight and doesn't seem to have been glued on.

I built about 12 or more bodies for him and had a lot of fun and practical and problem solving skill experiences doing so, so this project as been very fulfilling for me. I think I've now finally made my my vision for him manifest.

Please note that bottom of shirt and trousers are still wet in the photo after futzing. I'm very proud and happy. He's been through a ton of iterations and different looks! You can see some of these at the end of my post.

Contrary to what I previously thought, that slimmer waist and legs were the way to get the right look with these trousers, it was in fact a larger waist and legs. They, and the newly built, larger and broader upper-body have really transformed him and his trousers, as you can see. The fatter legs also match his larger torso now, too! I might try double-jointed arms and slightly shorter calves next, is all. But at the moment, my impression is that his frame seems correct for the age and physique he had in the film: semi-lean/ semi-bulky, broad chested, tall. I'll let him rest for a while before re-evaluating this.

I need a new tie as I've annoyingly and carelessly burned his tie (shiny white marks). I might try to see if I can get Dino's tie, or just dye this one over in black, that should cover up the white marks. TonTon showed me his DID one, but it looks a bit too thick for the scale and seems too long to match Ford's screen-worn tie.

I hope that folks like it.

The body ended up taking about 1 month and 12 or more builds to achieve and arrive at, but it was well worth it. It's definitely the most fulfilling and exciting that I have built since my McClane custom.

Crusade Indy 2 started off life with me with a body swap into a stock Worldbox AT011. I padded his thighs. Having no neck must have been painful for him.

From British Khaki to Pebble-Taupe & Trouser Conditioning & Preparation

I dyed his trousers to the correct, real life pebble-taupe shade of khaki a week or so ago and it greatly enhanced his overall accuracy, look and display presence. I developed a specific, special trouser prep and futzing method that I know use, which is as follows below, White vinegar acts as a fabric softener without any of the harmful chemicals/ plastics of off-the-shelf conditioners, and will greatly enhance the drape, style, ease of futzing and overall look of the trousers, and bring them closer to a full size pair.

Needed:

White vinegar (100% pure, 5% acidity) - I used approx. 6 caps of vinegar
Water to just submerge the trousers/ garment
Basin/ container
A careful, delicate hand and keen eye to futz and get trousers as desired
Fingers and or any small tool that might help you create desired stylings/ folds and overall look

Method:

  1. Wet iron first till wrinkle free (so that you have a clean base to work with when futzing).
  2. Soak for 30 - 45 minutes and rinse off in the solution. Do not squeeze to cause wrinkles to the trousers.
  3. Air dry, or use a hair dryer from a few inches to lightly dry.
  4. Dress and futz as desired/ as is necessary. Pull, stretch, fold etc. and get creative to winkle and style.

Or,

  1. Soak and rinse trousers first for approx. 30 - 45 minutes and then first squeeze out water gently by hand if preferred/ needed.
  2. Wet iron till trousers lighten slightly in colour but are still damp and supple.
  3. Dress and futz as desired/ as is necessary. Pull, stretch, fold etc. and get creative to winkle and style.

Spray starch, or bicarbonate of soda can be added when/ where needed, during wash/ whilst wet ironing for harder wrinkles and a 'stiffer' look, if preferred.

A comparison of before the above prep method and after. Note that the difference is more apparent in person and especially when feeling and futzing thee trouser:

Feels like back in 2015, pleather vs leather wasn't even an issue. Going through that old thread, nobody mentions it.

Ironic ... I just checked and my DX05 jacket is still in good shape, no issues. I have a Sovereign jacket too. I really liked that one, it was a weird material, but it had a lot of great wrinkles in it.
