Joking aside, you could do alot worse... I mean, Mob Boss Joker is just a great looking figure and that crazy suit will catch your eye over most of anyone's collection.

Sadly though, I guess they just answered the question of a 3rd release of that classic Joker outfit not going to happen. So go get another MAT002 if you want to build a Museum Joker.

I don't get the disdain some had for Mars' '89 Joker. It was especially prevalent on Facebook.

When I got him I thought he was pretty amazing for the price. It gave me confidence to believe that their '66 line would good.

I'm not a big fan of the film though, so I only bought him as a curiosity. When the original DX08 was announced I pre-ordered but soon cancelled - I remember writing at the time something along the lines of, "I don't really need a fake, dead Joker."


In my old days I'd have snapped up the new Mob Boss as another curiosity. Even in my current frame of mind that's telling me not to buy oddities that don't mean anything to me, he's really pulling me in. It's that full flesh paint Nicholson sculpt that's doing it. He's cheap too, as was their earlier version. $168 for a striking look and three sculpts.

If anyone out there creates a solid Joker hat I shall be interested. The DX08 hat is the figures only failing, I have never liked the flock hats. I have a spare DX08 sculpt to use to get a hat right.

I don’t expect anything they do to the hat will make it look right unless they provide a “hat hair” sculpt along with it. It‘ll need to be way too big to fit over that poofy do.

Yeah. I think the only way we'll ever get a proper hat is a release with two sculpts. One with a fixed hat and another without. I've been clamoring for one since the old DX08 was released. We even tried to get an interest thread going on the old board but there wasn't enough interest, which surprised me.

Well, yeah, that's true... but two of the three heads are the same sculpt with a slight paint variation. The outfit itself has far less tailoring and detail bits. And of course, far less gear -- which is why they so quickly said we'll throw in the tie and buzzer.

Anyway, I'm not complaining, I didn't buy MAT002 but quickly threw my money down for the more expensive but lighter Boss version.

Mars are pretty good with their pricing, considering inflation over the last few years.

It's still available at Comic Sanctorum, aka Toyswonderland, for $140. After shipping probably $180ish. I know everyone hates them, though personally I've had no issues with my orders.

Looking at my pre-order list Mars Toys is making up the majority right now. Assuming Six Feet Lane are Mars Toys.
