I'm beginning to feel genuinely sorry for this guy. Sheesh.
You know what though, he really seems to love it. I've always maintained if you enjoy something, it doesn't really matter if you're good at it. The part that makes us laugh at him, is posting that love to Youtube and charging more than Hot Toys for it.

Oh, I agree 100%. I was referring to the fact that folks haven't let up on this guy for a couple of days now. It almost seems like kicking a defenseless puppy or something.You know what though, he really seems to love it. Sometimes I actually despise the people who are in this hobby. This is a guy who obviously loves his figs and who the hell cares if his vids aren't the best or if he over estimates worth for customs. If you don't like the videos, don't watch, if you think it's overpriced, don't buy.
It's for this reason I'm reticent to participate on any fig forum over and above the bare minimum because for every decent fellow collector, there's an arsehole.
I'll tell you all something, that parody video is by far, more pathetic than any of Autobotjohns, as I actually enjoyed his obvious enthusiasm.
AutobotJohn, keep on doing what you do mate as long as you enjoy it.

He was a member, thought he left after everyone started seeing his videos.. Dunno
The issue I have with him is the same issue I have with my uncle.
I get that it's your money, you can do what you want with it, but it can get quite ridiculous..
For example, my uncle just bought 4 Alien models: $320 Derelict, $350Nostromo, (not sure of the price he paid for these two..) Narcissus, Space Jockey. He put them all together with hot glue. Smeared the hot glue all over them, and laid them upon his dusty shelf to rot with his broken swords/knight helmets and Star Wars/Trek models.
Of course I had to ask permission to hold the Derelict, wouldn't want it to get damaged..
But anyway, while holding it and crying a little inside, I said "Hey, you should really get this painted..".
His response was "It's supposed to be grey".
So uh, yeah.
IMO it's like some rich guy buying the Mona Lisa and destroying it, but you can't say anything about it because it's hhhiiiisssss mooonnnneeeyyyyy..............
You hit the nail on the head, Lar'ja. If you're going to display your work for all the world to see, be ready for the criticism as well as the praise. Praise is just a pat on the back, while criticism can be completely vicious and often personal attacks. Partly because you're taking a figure someone else would go to great extents to obtain and, in their eyes, just destroying it. Or just that it's so bad it's funny.
Who knows, the dude might just be a huge joke-ster, as well.
