I started last week on my 1/6 scale David Tennant Tardis. It should be done by next week.

I use pine, oak, birch and spruce. NO balsa wood junk :)

I will be using battery operated LED lights, and I use the "Doctor Who In Your Pocket" keychain on the inside which makes the Tardis sound (really loud too).

I have made many Tardis' over the past few years. But I sold my 1/6 scale Tardis that I made about 3 years ago. And I had to make this one for the 1/6 Big Chief David Tennant.

I don't take great pictures, but here are a couple.

These are 3 David Tennant's.

Matt Smith's 99.9% done, only missing St. John's Ambulance decal. It's basically a David Tennant Tardis but in mint condition, and silver hardware plus a different lantern.

Coming along nicely - can't wait to see it finished.

Are you going to make the little swing out Telephone door on the Door?

Not this time. I did that on the Tardis you got from me. I am going to put false hinges on the door, so it will look like it opens. I am not a big fan of that door.

Thanks all for the great comments!! I will be working on this non stop until they are done. I should be done by next week. I will post more updated photos before that.

The one you did for me turned out great, it started my obsession to make customs of all the Doctors.

I'm running out of room on the shelf.
still can't believe no one bid against me for it, for that quality the price couldn't have been better.

Thanks. That was the first Tardis I ever made. I have made many since then, all sizes. So hopefully my skills have improved. I am going to make the color match exactly like David Tennants, and a more accurate lantern and windows.

This is a a photo of me with a 1/2 scale Tardis I made last year. My camera is weird and makes it look much smaller than it is. It is around 5' 1/2 tall, and I am only 5' 10". I don't have the best camera.

I even made a small wood Tardis for 5" figures. NEVER again, it was way too small LOL!! It took me longer to build than a larger Tardis. I gave it as a gift to my wife's cousin's daughter who LOVES Doctor Who.

Wait you're making three? Insane.

Tell me about it :lol I do like to challange myself I guess. I will be starting a new job in about a week (only 90 day temp job, the job market is horrible), and wanted to finish off a Tardis for myself before that. I pretty much just finished up the lanterns tonight and will finish off the roof's tomorrow. And will start on the Police Box signs after that. I still have a ton of detail to add, but that's the easier stuff. I am getting the big stuff out of the way first.

God how I wish I could afford to make one of theses or ask if you could make me one.

The shipping from the USA would be a killer. And I think I need to retire from Tardis building when I am done with these 3 LOL. I will be posting one of these in the "for sale" section of the forum when it's done, the other two aren't for sale. You should build one, believe me, if I can do it, you can do it. Just take your time, and only worry about the step you are on. I am building 3 at once, but this isn't my first Tardis build, and I have been doing almost nothing other than build these since last friday, and I will never do 3 at once again :lol

Well, yesterday was a busy day. I finished all three roofs, and all of the Police Box sign boxes. Also finished all the molding for the front Tardis in this photo. I will be getting the last piece in the mail today to finish up the lanterns. Then finishing up the molding on the last two Tardis'. I need to run and get a little more wood today for that. And I have some door handles, but no nails for them, so I have to get them today too. The next step will be installing brackets on the inside of the Tardis that I can zip tie the wires for the lights. I should get to that point today, and even start the painting. The next photos will probably be in full color :wink1:

I tried to take a photo showing the different molding that I used.
