1/6 Sideshow Snowtrooper 2012

While I don't collect the Joe line, all the recent figures show a real improvement in the paint work. We really haven't had a Star Wars human from Sideshow in a long time so I'm anxious to see what the next one will look like in production.

The Clone Commanders have been pretty good; but even they don't look as nice as the recent Joe figures.

I have both and in hand Zartan is a HUGE leap forward, night and day.

Zartan is the bench mark right now. He is on par with HT paint apps.

Plus, no googly eyes.

I'd really like to see HT do a couple SW figures with painted eyes.

Looking at Zartan in my hand right now, I don't think there is anything Sideshow can't handle with the SW line.

What was the last non-armored human figure in the line? Piett (bad)? The Emperor (good)?

The KOTCS Indy was better than all the other figures in the Indy line, paint-wise. But there was still some way to go to match HT paint jobs. Granted that was already over a year ago...

I don't have (or have seen) any of the Joes, but by the way everyone is gushing about them, it makes me hopeful!

Lando was a very solid figure. I liked him better proportion wise once I swapped over to the Stalker Pro but everything else was great... Even the cape was passable IMO. Though Wor-Gar often compares it to Vader's cape I thought it was good enough.

I love the cape. Only thing I didn't like was the Pro, and for the same reasons as you.

Thats funny, cause I have Zartan on my desk, right next to Superman, and I was just thinking, "theres really no difference in paint quality." 100% true story.

R&R is good, but Z is much better, imo.

Okay, I'll shut up about Joe in the SW section now.

I also have been thinking that it has been ages since we seen a Star Wars human sculpted character.I think it is time Sideshow...Vader reveal looks good so there is that.

I've heard nothing but good things about the Emperor but I've put off buying it for one reason or the other till last week. I should get it tomorrow. I guess I just knew that the EX was a must.... Now I just have to figure out of I want the throne or not.

Emp is awesome from top to bottom. Good paint apps and the material used for his robe is really nice.

Although the Emperor isn't the best guage of paint since he's an old dude and Sideshow usually did a better job on them.

I'm pretty sure the bot the CW Anakin Luke and Han Stormtroopers have been released since Lando... both were decent, but nothing very impressive. Kind of the same story with the Commanders, very clean work and nothing about them is distracting... but they don't have the subtle coloring that makes them as realistic as HT.
