Beginning to "detail up " the marine . I planned on sculpting the chest emblem with Milliput , but after a couple of attempts I wasn't happy with the results so I used styrene strips and the skull from a "Pirate Ring" from a joke shop !

( I also swapped over the shoulder armour as it was pointed out that squad markings are worn on the right ) .

Great stuff! Wow kinda glad I've pushed my attempt to the back burner...it looks like poo compared to everyone elses! :(

Yeah what with so many options its gets a bit hard to decide. I must have spent hours and hours looking at different space marine chapters and ranks etc.

I just bought mine from Seb, so saved me all the hassle of making it! lol

Well there is that lol. Talking about Seb he's got me sculpting for him again but it's money toward hot toys figs so its all good as it'll go straight in your pocket :lol im looking forward to Spidey he looks sweet :yess:

Haaahhaaa like your style breakersrevenge!!!!!

Wanderer!!! if you get real stuck and its driving you nuts, send it back to me and I will make it for you :)

I think that's the problem , not WHAT to do , but what NOT to do ! The trick is to pick a ( basic ) colour scheme , concentrate on getting that sorted and then worry about the details, extras etc. later . It sounds simple , but it's easy to get overwhelmed by the loads of reference material available .

AHHHHH IAN!!! that looks so cool!! I love your WWIII slant on it and the bases and weathering are brilliant... Love to see some more shots maybe all different angels :)

Thanks so much for putting the pics up Ian its most inspiring :)

Hi Mark
thank YOU for the bits! I know it's not really in the Space Marine vain, but I hope you get the gist of it. I didn't put up too many pic's as i normally don't get much of a response, so I thought 2 pics just to show what I've done with your bits. Maybe when taxes are lower, rent is cheaper and cigarettes a £1 a pack I can afford to get a full suit and have a go at a full Space Marine !!! WW3 styleeeeeee

Hi
resin bits I got from DS and the rest from the spares box. Beautiful stuff Mark!! Thank you.

Thanks for looking
Ian.

Superb work Ian mate! It has a threea vibe to it. Great stuff and a nice take on the armour. Very well done.

And Mark cheers mate. That means a lot. Think I'll keep plodding away and hopefully one day I'll finally post it on here! Lol
While we're on the subject of you doing one for me, if, later in the year you're still casting these, I'd love you to do one for me...it'd be an honour to own a proper one ;)

Nah Wannderererer, 3A has a Ian vibe :lecture :D :monkey1

Added a couple more features to the marine , an "Iron Halo" ( some kind of shield generator ) and a big choppy weapon ! Both are "mid build" , so ignore the rough paint !
