Rex head sculpt for those playing the head sculpt roulette game.

Yeah the hairline is bad, but it's not an easy hairstyle to do. Snakes hair would cover that up.

I received this today. Rex had also been pushed back as a result of the port strike but ended up getting through.

Yeah that really does look good. Detail on the skin is nice. Eyes look good.

Just got an email to say Snake is processing this Thursday.

Yea face and eyes look great.

But that hair looks like a sponge.

It's not as bad in hand and on a shelf it looks ok. Rex has a pretty bad hair style for sculpting is it's pretty much a half centimetre blonde buzz. I think the only way it could have been done well mass produced would be a solid head sculpt but sideshow likes its new eye system which requires separate pieces.

But, the face sculpt and paint app are great and the eye system worked really well on this one. A definite step in the right direction. Can't wait to see Snake in hand now. Fingers crossed he turned out as well as this and with his hair those join seams should be well hidden.

If he ships early Thursday (probably not) I could have him by the end of the day. If not Friday. I'm actually excited for this figure even with all the flaws. I don't think he's as bad as the pics make him out to be. At $160 he's about $20 more than I would have liked to pay for him especially with the issues. However, he is nowhere near the Superman disaster at $200+. This guy needs some weathering and he'll be good to go.

I just got the email from SS showing a new pic gallery. I was very interested to see what this came out like (due to Solo Hoth and TOD Indiana). Especially after buying the howler that was Uncharted Drake.

What do you guys think?

Considering that these are pro pictures, with pro lighting and colour graded/touched up, I was pretty unimpressed?

While it doesn't look as bad as in the early pics, it still didn't knock my socks off either.

Looks like Snake but not like Kurt Russell.

Indeed. Kurt has very distinct eyelids, and they gave him just a generic eyelid shape. The proto had it, this does not.

I hadn't been following. They just sent the email now said "new photos" I assumed they were telling the truth! . I hadn't seen them before. very disappointing, I really was hoping this was going to be a sea change and an indicator of good things to come. Instead it has the same unfortunate eyes, rubber mask face and soft rubber hair sculpt as Drake had. God even the seams/mold make on his arms.
Yikes.

By the way EFNY fans, be very thankful that remake didn't happen the script was horrendously bad. It pissed on every ****ing thing that was good about the original.
