1/6 Star Ace - Underworld Evolution - Selene Collectible Figure

I don't want to sit here and bash Starace because to be honest I'm really happy that there committed to this line . I'm sure they were hoping for better production of the head sculpts but didn't get the right people doing it . I know that I want a 1/6 scale LYCAN and star ace needs this line to be successful but it's asking a lot for this kind of $$$ . Maybe $50 cheaper and then we can talk .

I don't think it's bashing, your expectations weren't met and you're just saying why. You have every right to do so.

Which proves what I've been saying from the start. The sculpt is great, but that's got to be the poorest paint apps I've seen since... Dunno, Sideshow Pamela Voorhees maybe?

In this time and age where the big players of 1/6, ( or some of the lesser known ones ) do their best to impress with their releases and products.. This selene fig is a big let down. Wished they ( star ace ) were more aware of what the collectors felt and wanted to be improved on the figure to make them love and purchase their selene.

Side profile looks to be the best angle. Forehead or hairline looks a bit high. I'd like to see a front comparison. Definitely thinking about removing that hair and adding real hair but I'll see once in hand.

Thanks for the review !! I think it looks excellent and the version reviewed looks like the version Michael did, which is different from the revised version.

The finalized version (from some of the new pics) has less hair covering the face on the right hand side (left part of her face), and should have additional paint on the left side of her forehead. The reviewers version does not and looks like the same "T1" the Captain reviewed. That said, I think the accessories look like crap, I think all the hands are also garbage. The costume and sculpt look great. The hair is not perfect, but magnified 4x its real size, it looks ok in HD (which should be good in person).

Everyone is entitled to their option and I think it looks great. What's with people nowadays? Everything is a masterpiece or an utter abomination? What happened to... its all right, not perfect, but alright? This looks like a solid 7.5/10 judging everything shown so far. Let down for some is understandable but that doesn't make it garbage. BUT THEY'RE CHARGING $250 !! Yeah and if complainers have fully paid with zero chance of refunds i feel ya ! But fact is most can cancel an order without penalty, so you haven't paid ****. No loss for you so chill. Still waiting to have it on hand, but probably won't post pics even when I do, since there are so many members content to banish this to hell.

One more thing... originally I wasn't her biggest fan. I mean... she's alright I guess, but the Selene character is pretty cool. However I saw this last night... and I think I fell in love. The women loves making..... shapes with fruits... i'm in love fellas.

Exactly that - everyone is entitled to their opinions. You start by saying you think that, then you're attacking people from the next sentence onwards. Do what you say and let people have their opinions about the figure, that's what a forum is for. After that rant, I think you need to take your own advise and chill Express your opinion and move on, not moan about other collectors.

No loss to us...YET. There is a loss, however, to all the retailers that took the POs, paid up front for them, and are now getting cancelations. This type of thing can hurt us in the future, as well, and has already happened, as we see retailers go out of business. I POd this from Timewalker, and despite being extremely disappointed in what was a Grail figure for me, I'm not going to screw them over by canceling. I'll just never PO anything from Star Ace again.

I'm in the same boat... ordered from Timewalker and don't want to cancel. Maybe it will look ok in hand (trying to be positive here), but I'm not going to purchase Viktor as I was planning to, since I might end up selling Selene at a loss. I was so looking forward to this figure, very high on my most wanted list. This is two disappointments lately... the Sideshow Rey 1/4 scale isn't looking too good either (at least I don't have any money wrapped up in that one).

Yes, please don't punish the small retailers by cancelling your preorder. If you are unhappy with the production, then you should let the manufacturer know instead. There are not many 1/6 retailers around anymore, let's keep them staying in business. I wanted Selene but didn't have faith in Star Ace's production quality so I didn't preorder her.

I always thought this angle of the sculpt looked mostly like KB. Even when they showed the prototype for the first time.
