Well, I'm totally stoked for this one...he looks really cool!

It looks like Sideshow took the most recent Hasbro version and brought it up to 1:6 scale and decked him out.

Here's a look at that Hasbro action figure....

The ole' Cantina denizen was sure one of Hasbro's great efforts...and from the preview shots at Sideshow's site, their take on this guy looks like a great one.

It'll be great to see some folks posting pics of him from SDCC....

The only thing I'd change on the Sideshow is filling out the hood a bit more to hide the shape of the head going into the body, that area looks a bit odd but the Hasbro figure's a nice example, I like how the hood flows into the shoulders in one smooth path.

Yeah, the neck to shoulder transition is my only concern. But I figure at worst it may just be a case of having to pad his shoulders.

But other than that the figure looks perfect to me :rock

I guess you could manipulate the shirt some to pad and fill that in, I was thinking of how tight the hood is on the head and not being able to manipulate that.

I agree, that's for me the only thing holding it back from a perfect score.

But I hope Sideshow makes the hood a bit bigger so we wouldn't have to make any improvements. doesn't seem like it's asking for too much

I remember when I cringed a the $120 plus Darth Vader when it was first announced by sideshow. I had the same reaction about the Gammy and now Hammerhead.

I think its safe to assume that these figures will continue to increase in costs and similar to the Medicom prices we are used to. We can expect to see these figures cost anywhere from $189.00-$209.00 by the time Yoda is released.

Sadly, I don't think I can hang anymore with all of you high rollers. So goodbye all my collector friends.

(If you need me, I will be in the corner and in a fetal position, clinging to my 49.99 Jedi Luke.

Every time SSC's prices go up, so does gohastings sales.

:dunno

I don't get you guys... you expect them to invent completely new environments for the Cantina tables and chairs? :lol :cuckoo:

This is what they are from the film reference materials. Of course they look similar... it's the same Cantina! :lecture

Sideshow is approaching these perfectly. They're offering both environments for those who would like to display as much of the Cantina as possible... and they're both offered completely separately from the respective figures so that those who don't care for them can just ignore them and get the figures, including Exclusives. There is absolutely nothing to complain about here.

I hope they do even more with future Cantina denizen figures. :yess:

So that means you approve of the $90 polystoniness? :lol

No. I'm still irked that Sideshow seems absolutely fixated on Polystone for everything that is not a 1:6 figure. These items could definitely be made more affordable and look just as good. The weight of items is immaterial (no pun intended). That they look as close to 100% screen accurate is the #1 concern. And that can certainly be achieved with cheaper plastics... with much the same visual result.

But as for the design/look of the Hammerhead Nook itself, it's fine... and exactly what it should be. I understand the gripe over the price (believe me) but not that it looks "just like the Greedo environment". That argument is a non-starter. It is what it is.

This is also different than the G.I. JOE Waypoint 12 environment, which forces you to shell out $120 for a wall if you want the Timber (which is also polystone... and undersized, eek).

Other than the choice of polystone (which is a much larger issue, of course) I have absolutely no complaints over Sideshow's approach to these 1:6 Cantina figures & environments so far. Hell, they're even including lights (unlike the Han in Carbonite Environment, which is still a head-scratcher).

Actually, the Carbo Han was a headscratcher for me as well until I scored it for $127 :)moon).

And I agree. I'm glad that they're not lumping this in with the figure like they did with Timber. But honestly, I think I'd rather see development time utilized to get out some of the older figures we've been waiting for, for years now, then pumping out another overpriced polystone environment. Just my two pesos.
