The eyes really aren't as wide as hans, the sun isn't helping much, I will get some close ups tonight Rory, from a distance they seem fine to me. he's a little doe eyed but then again he was in the film. I don't mind others opinions everyone is allowed one . I will post my full thoughts tonight after work and spent some more time futzing and inspecting.

I think if I mention Team America at this point I may have trained gun men shoot me through the hotel window I'm staying in at the moment. But those eyes are ****ing horrible, crazy stupid horrible. Its a 100% Team America doll. It reinforces my view that those SSC sponsored reviews were completely dishonest. And these are great pics from a great photographer/futzer? Sorry Mark, I love your pics and futzing. Always top notch stuff.

And I am completely objective about this. I have paid for it and it's on its way from HK as we speak.
More pictures may reveal positives not seen here, but they just look so crude? Like over sized zombie eyes with rough edges.

This is horror movie stuff.

Costume looks a bit neater though, stitching is sharper than i was expecting after Han, so thats good.

I think i would have to see this in hand myself but so far I'd have to agree completely with what Rory had said

I wouldn't say that's completely true, people have wildly different standards about what they find acceptable and not acceptable. I've seen literally hundreds of figure reviews that are not sponsored by anyone but seem to gloss over what would seem to be very clear quality issues. Some people are just extremely forgiving of certain things, or not necessarily forgiving of and issue, they just don't see it as an issue. When Faramir shipped years ago there were people who thought it was a great figure and took virtually no issue with the atrocious paint apps and they weren't being sponsored by anyone. You can't call them all dishonest just because you have issues with aspects of a doll that they may or may not have issue with.

That being said, I do think when people are getting free figures to review they are probably going to be less critical than they may otherwise be because they wanna stay in the good graces of whoever they are reviewing for.

If I ever got a free doll to review it would probably be the last cause I would highlight all its failings as equally as its achievements.

No, I don't mean what the reviewers actually said was dishonest, thats subjective. And to be honest we are talking about toy reviews here, its not that important, I wouldn't call any toy reviewer dishonest as people, regardless of what they said.

I mean the pictures/footage they showed. The eyes looked proto good in most of them, which made me pretty suspicious. Anytime they cut to close ups it was still images. I didn't see much video close-up footage of the eyes. I believe they were carefully put together to try and quench the flames of growing discontent. So either they were sent hand-picked higher quality sculpts or the footage was carefully controlled.

Anyway regardless, lets discuss what has been released now.

I think the reason why im not as annoyed at the eyes on these figures is because they are no way as bad as drake's were, while they are a little wide i view these things from normal viewing distance and the rest of the figure more than makes up for it. On my shelf i see representations of both hoth han and luke(when i get home that is lol) and that sets off the inner SW geek in me lol. When it comes to sideshow figures im in no way expecting hot toys quality so my hopes are never set high i go in with an open mind and i am pleasantly surprised. Im by no means sugar coating it because i shelled out the money for these guys if there were faults i was completely unhappy about believe me i would be saying. As i said though people are more than entitled to their opinion, they are like *******s we all have one.

Same can be said for old comment ''the price we pay'' while they are expensive the rest of the figure more than makes up for it, if the outfit wasn't up to scratch we would have a different story on our hands. hopefully i made some sense i tend to ramble on lol

Either way im happy lol and i can't wait to pay off the tauntaun and get my dio going
