12" Inch Figure Dewback A New Hope

There's something not right about where the tail meets its butt. Wrong thickness, doesn't flow... not sure, it just looks wrong.

I'll be ordering it, but with no exclusive I'm going to go through a retailer and save 10%. I would not have any worry about this selling out fast and at the very least Sideshow will keep the ES open until they see how the pre-orders go.

That's how it looks in the movies...like a gila monster er some animal that has extra stores of fat in there...kinda like that tho...like a salamander -- the head the tail -- very salamander...

I think this is better than the new official dewback from the PT

I'll be ordering the Dewback and Sandtrooper for sure. Just not sure if it'll be from SSC or a retailer. I've got Sideshow reward points to use and may opt for the flex pay option. Sideshow for sure if using my reward points makes this guy cheaper than the normal MSRP discount at a retailer.

I'm guessing it'll stick around for a bit due to the sticker shock it has caused thus far.

I only have about $60 in RP, so I'll keep building that until I can purchase a full figure. Gotta remember, using RP on the Dewback means you'd loose about $15 in future rewards points from his $300 pricetag.

I hope they come out with an established ES right out of the gate. I think they've gotten enough feedback in this thread to make an educated decision on where this will come in with sales.

There is no debating that this piece is awesome, from the sculpts, to the materials to the paint, top notch.

I was originally going to order both, but as of this second I'm only doing the Sandtrooper. I really, really feel that the Dewback is priced higher than it should be. I may PO both and see how things are when it actually releases.

Good point. I just checked my reward points and I have a whopping $15 worth. Shows how little I buy directly from Sideshow. So, I may be going retail on this one.

Vinyl make so much sense when it comes to shipping cost.

I am one who love to play with my toys. There is always a chance of me slipping and breaking my Polystone Dewback.

One more thing, the level of detail achieved between Vinyl and Polystone isn't that far apart.

there was a member here who had to smash it to get replacement, and you could see the throne was hollow

Polystone is a compound made up largely of polyurethane resin mixed with powdered stone additives.

SST would be wise not to crank too many of these lizards out... a low edition size would help keep them from becoming a "holding company". who knows, if it does well, they can always crank out another (leg down pose?).
