Usaully i dont mind things getting pushed back, but this time it really sux. That just gonna make my first quarter that much more exspensive. Things will difinitely be getting canceled if both Legolas and Boromir ship 1st quarter!!!

Well . . .besides the head, they need to find a way to flesh out those chicken legs. I understand that fitting him into those boots were a consideration, . . .

So here's hoping that the reason for the delay is last minute changes to the design, and not just some manufacturing issue.

Rad. What Chicken Legs? I mean did you even see the same figure the rest of us saw at SDCC?

Orlando isn't exactly a thick dude. He's a pretty skinny guy without too much meat on his bones. I think this is going to be one of the best 12" of the whole line, just sucks we have to wait even longer now.

I'm almost emabarassed to say what I've got scheduled to ship in the first qtr of next year. Let's just leave it at 4 PF's, a life size bust, Jabba and throne, 5-6 12" figures, and a few GG busts. How early can I file my tax return:monkey3

Me 2:monkey2

I was pretty miffed to find that nothing on my wantlist is coming till the first part of '07. Guess I can go ahead and start saving for 'em but I was really looking forward to Legolas, moreso even than Maul or the Legacy Bonds.

My only real complaints about Legolas are that the sleeves should be tighter and look a tad long. Still that's a minoro complaint. But I wish the regular came with the Lothlorien cape, as he wears for the rest of the trilogy. Seems to me it would have made more for the cloak he wore during the Council of Elrond sene to be the exclusive item...

Actually that's the one thing that's been driving me crazy about Legolas this entire time. In the films his outer tunic is very closely fitted, resulting in a tightly formed shape. On the figure though, it's very bulky, despite the wonderful tailoring and details. I really wish they could tighten up the outfit so the figure can emulate Bloom's build; I would think with the Art. S. Buck body that wouldn't be a problem. To replicate it ought not to be an issue, as the material is perfect. Just change the fit--Please SSC!

Okay, I did a double take. I believe the issue may not be the legs, but rather the outfit. In this picture of Legolas, you'll notice his outfit hugs his form better:

In the SS shot below his tunic looks big on him particularly his sleeves, and the tunic area below the belt. Basically it looks like an apron, and makes his legs look small as a result. If anything, the material SS chose looks a tad on the stiff side. I wonder if it's also because his vambraces are not closer to his wrists and look big too.

good observation and comparison pics there. i hope that's the reason why he's delayed. that they figured those points out early and went to fix it. i really hope so... else :monkey2

hey wait... i thought i saw something different too. isn't the colour of his waist belt and the strap holding the quiver wrong??? also i took a look again at the sdcc pics on the previous page and the vambraces are actually close to his wrists unlike the pic above.

Yep, and its called "Premium Format". ;)

:monkey1

In my collection, Premium Format is what I make it!! Can't lay down $350, but I can sit and re-work it with paint and thread for a few days. That's my PF.

And very fine figures they are. :) Can't lay down $350? You mean you don't fund your collection with your commission work? :D

I do, but I fund a bevy of 12" figures, not a handful of 1/4. My problem with 1/4 scale is that there's very little for me to do but open the box, put it together, and find a place for it. And look at it. Maybe turn it into the light every now and then. But that's it.

My fun is in the painting and posing. The altering. The "making-it-better" and uniquely my own. Do you think one of my brushes will ever get near a PF Lurtz? Hell, no!!

That's a shame! I've been dying to see someone go to town on a PF custom. The closest I've seen was when someone posted images of the custom Han PF, with the new paint and added gloves.

PF's are begging for customization just as much as a 1/6 figure... C'mon man, give it a shot! :)

I'd love to see someone do some cutting/re-posing or repainting on a PF. I'd do it myself if I had the time. Would be just like working on a resin kit, and the results would be even more rewarding than a 1/6 custom (I would think).

C'mon Mikey..... :ccheerlea

:D

Hehe, Andy. Were PFs only $60 a pop, then even I wouldn't mind taking a stab at customizing it a bit. Alas, the cost of the poly just makes me tremble at retouching what's already been done.
