Not necessarily. New Line has a major say in what happened in deals regarding LOTR.

hasn't WETA started their own "statue shop" for king kong? i'd think if anyone was gonna make LOTR statues, it would be WETA.

Maybe not as I said depends on what right Weta had to make stuff beyond this contract and what New Line had as far as rights.
