Now I'm happy!!!!! From the preview pic, I REALLY wasn't impressed (I know, I should know better) - first time I completely freaked out over a preview pic.

Excellent Job, Oluf!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to agree with all other board members. The head is truely perfect. Mr. Oluf did a fantastic job. Now I am just hoping that sideshow will eventually "evolve" and use better material to make the hair look more realistic. But all in all all of the 12" figures so far have been outstanding. Keep 'em coming Sideshow.:D

Oluf knocked this one outta the park, one of his best ever in my opinion. :rock

hey, now how awesome are those new pics of Arnold in the blog. Very nice!!!!

I don't know if Oluf reads these forums, but I hope he knows that he has new fans now! :D

Ditto
And many old fans, remember Oluf did the incredible Buffy Human Spike James Marsters sculpt, widely considered one of the finest headsculpts EVER made amongst many other fan faves. Time he got his props!

Thanks again Oluf :bow

Great facial resemblance, but the hair looks dodgy. I know Liam Neeson wore a wig in TPM but there's no reason to make the figure like that. The way the hair was done on Legolas looks much better.

I agree bcm77. In reviewing the photos from TPM, I think it would look much better if the 12" Qui-Gon had hair to the front, over the shoulders, as well as the back...like the Legolas 12" figure. The scult of Qui-Gon's face is GREAT...and the 2-piece hair/head thing is definitely the way to go (again, like the Legolas), but having all the hair to the back, it just doesn't look quite right to me...it's also not puffy enough at the bottom. I would much prefer to have hair to the front over the shoulders and restrict the movement of the head a bit, if that's the reason it's all to the back. It's a display piece, so I'd rather the hair looked a little better. They have the 2 tentacles to the front on Kit Fisto, surely that will restrict his head movement a bit, why not have the hair over the front of the shoulders on Qui-Gon?

Perhaps they'll offer 2 sets of attachable hair-pieces. one with it over the shoulders at the front (like it is for most of the film) and one with it swept back (for the duel of the fates). Just an idea...

:D

I can't seem to get the blasted movie to load!

But from that ONE picture... Qui-Gon looks stunning. It's great to see that Oluf has finally thrown his hat into the Star Wars 12" arena!

Mentioning the hair, I would hope for it hanging forward, at least for a future PF. Doing so would limit the poseablity on a 12" , so I can understand why its like that for this sculpt. But with a PF that isn't an issue at all. Good to think about what works for which format, ya know?

I like the Qui-Gon alot. I'll more then likely try to get the exclusive from SS tomorow.

Is everyone on here really buying the hair? It looks like a thin scarf without much texture and almost a straight cut. Why would it look any better painted -- the faces sure don't.

I'm surprised no one seems that bothered. Usually you guys are all over these things for eye size width and other really minute things. Now here's something that seems like a real flaw and no one seems to mind. Strange.

I agree, the face is excellent -- maybe the best likeness yet -- but will you please take another look at the QVR and check out the hair in the back?

Well since the exclusive is his moisture farmer poncho I can skip this one for sure.

Auggh! Poncho. I was hoping the exclusive would be a hole in his torso so when he 12" Maul comes out he could pocke his lightsaber into it.

Thats what I was hoping for too.

How would that be good as an exclusive?
I could just imagine the SS people if they came up with that...

"Hey, guys I have an idea on the Qui-Gon exclusive. To save money, why don't we just take some drills and put a hole through him, that way the fans can make it look like Maul is stabbing him when Maul is released. We can even charge more money for it since it would require "a new body style" to be made."

Yeah, then it would take 45 days to sell out rather than 45 minutes, the first figure to sell out the regular version before the exclusive.
