Again expensive. Once they probably done scanning and a modeler has adjusted and fixed issues sized the mesh and found a printing company. Shapeways isn't great on prices fyi. You'll be looking at around 2-3 grand in R&D and then printing costs around $500 that is if you don't do a run then a run will lower costs.

Ouch. That's out of my price range. I talked to my friend here as well. He agrees that it wouldn't be cost effective. :(

I have thoroughly enjoyed the progress of this thread & project. You have done an excellent job here IzzyMel. Looking very forward to the finishing touches.

Well I'm 99.5% done. Couple more things to add to the top canopy and It's done.

Bravo my man! :clap

If I absolutely, positively, my life depended on it, had to nit pick...I would say the LEDs are too bright. Then again it may just be the camera.

This is crazy awesome. Great build. Congratulations.

Thanks Chakaman.

I finished the internals of the front top cockpit:

For the most part she is done. Just some minor tweaking and a targeting computer. Here a couple more shots. of the outisde with and without the pilot:

I tried the lights but as you can see it's a tad bit too bright. :D

Thanks for looking and for all the comments. Time to move onto another project. :)

As we say in the R2 Builders Club, it's never really finished... always something I can improve upon.

So, someone ask me if I had plans on building a targeting computer. :D I did build one however it hasn't been painted. Here are a couple of shots. Keep in mind it's not finished yet.

If you have a targeting computer, you need something to shoot at? Know what I mean Izzy?........:wink1:

Btw....Fantastic job IzzyMel. :hi5:

oooh I 1/6 Tie fighter would be sweet! Not sure what you could use for a sphere that size.

I planned on building a 1/6 Tie Fighter Cockpit. The hard part will be finding enough reference pictures (both movie and behind the scenes). I have a few a pictures but not much.

Yeah there isnt a lot of reference pics of the interior. You could always base it on the fine molds model. I missed out on the 1/48 scale tie. I have the 1/48 x-wing and its excellent.
