The DEAD Specimens are among the biggest busts (pun purely intended) in recent Sideshow history. How odd that would take up one of the SDCC Exclusive slots instead of a 1/6 figure.

My thoughts so far:
1) Spiderwoman bust (some variant)
2) Phase 1 Clone (some variant)
3) The Dead Specimen bust
4) AT-ST Diorama

Dosen't help that SS gave away butchers and Harbringers left and right during spook. Worst of it being giving away the newly released Butcher at SDCC :horror

I hope we see more Dead 12" and that they haven't given up on the line.

When I saw the helmeted figure silouette, I thought "OMG SHREDDER!!!!!!"

The subsequent posts about Clone Troopers have shattered my hopes and dreams. :monkey2

...3. Dead Head? Probably will be the most limited since SS still has stock of the original 200 left...

I don't know if I would say that; 3/4 of the edition sold out in the first few days they were released at Spooktacular, and the remaining quarter took just about 3 to 4 months to finish up. That isn't a bust to me, and a lot of other products that are considered successes, are still available after a much longer time period.

Saddest still is that those 2 are great figures... maybe the numbers were too large. Also, I think the came after the backlash against the variant overkill.

Sideshow expected the entire amount to sell out within minutes.

Also, with that limited an ES taking 3-4 months to sell out is bad. I can only think of the Elvis PF as an example or a worse seller with an extremely low ES.

I don't know if I'd say one of the worst. The thing that I hate to see with it being a bust is being a 1:6th collector and loving getting a new dead figure at SDCC. If we don't end up with one its gonna be a bit of a let down and I'm left to hope we see a new release set up for sale at the show.

If the launch of the DEAD Specimens line isn't one of the most disappointing/worst sellers in recent Sideshow history, then what is? Can you think of a worse performer with such a small ES? Like I said, I could only think of Elvis...

Its a niche line though so I don't know if expecting a crazy fast sale is a sure thing. I'm not a big fan of the busts as far as the dead line go.

Tremors Graboid maquette ES 100 (rumored only half were made)
Brundlefly ES 250 (still available after 3 years)
Martinfly ES 250 (still available after 3 years)
Blackbeard PF Ex ES 200 (60 still available after more than a year) (and this is one of the best PF's they have ever created!!!)
Dr. Zaius PF EX ES 200 (30 still available after more than a year)
Anakin VS Asajj Dio EX ES 275 (at least 90 still left)

I could go on and on...

Lonnie... your knowledge of Sideshow kind of borders on the stalkerish :lol

I know... it does doesn't it? People think I'm strange for archiving product pages, newsletters, etc... and don't get them started on whether swag is "collectible" or not!!! :rotfl :rotfl :rotfl

No HT exclusive this year???:monkey2

We won't know Hot Toys plans for another few weeks. It is still up in the air. For now, we are focusing on the Sideshow items, and *may* add distributed exclusives at a later date if there end up being some :duff (remember, we usually don't reveal these thing until May, so we are ahead of the game this year!)
