Yeah, you do take your lumps but you are also good at coming across like you "truly" know whats good or not. Just let people enjoy the films for reasons why they do and let others dislike films you like. All while making your point without coming across high and mighty.

The fact that this man never won an Oscar sums up exactly whats wrong with the Academy. Luckily Kubrick never gave political hand jobs.

Portman was great in Swan but should have gone to the girl from True Grit imo, shes only 14 and her performance was on par with anything in hollywood anywhere. Hell, she kept up with Bridges and Damon.

She was better in Leon, Black Swan is over rated
