2016 Hot Toys "Toy Fair Exclusives" Speculation

Blitzway shat all over HT this week. I hope they continue to do so.

One license announcement makes them **** all over Hot Toys? I'm happy to see Ghostbusters figures too but that's an exaggeration.

The HT haters are in full force here , I very much doubt that the few dozen people that stop buying their figures is going to make an iota of difference.

I think its more an issue of the ever increasing price of HT figs & the number of rival companies jostling with HT. The odd collector not collecting HT, will not make much of a dent on HT profit margin.

People love to use price against Hot Toys but while some of their stuff is more they've stayed fairly consistent in the roughly four years I've been collecting. Some are more some are less. The ones that tend to be higher are things that command the price like Iron Man or other popular licenses/characters.

Blitzway as an example isn't cheaper than Hot Toys. I'm sure for some people its the licenses Hot Toys focuses on that doesn't interest them as much but Hot Toys are the top of the 1/6th game at the moment. Blitzway has revealed what one figure (Tyler Durden) in the last year and announced one license? I'd hardly call that sh**ting on Hot Toys personally. The Ghostbusters announcement is cool and I'm excited for the figures but saying that automatically puts them ahead is silly.

A Batman Returns Catwoman would be great, but I'd rather it be a normal release. If this is the only way we'd get it, fine, but I think there's probably enough interest they wouldn't need to make it limited. Maybe a Selina Kyle figure instead? That's probably of more limited interest.

Precisely. It also really isn't just Hot Toys prices, it's their distributers that are putting their markup on them. I find it interesting that you can find quite large differences locally between prices on the same HT figures. Sometimes $50 or more.

No, not officially. I know Arkham Bats didn't sell as well as expected, but I'd be surprised if Joker was actually cancelled. But you never know... As far as the exclusives, I hope all three (four?) are complete surprises..

This is less a prediction and more of my number one desire, and that is for Hot Toys to get the Witcher 3 license. Its my favorite game of all time, the biggest game of 2015, and people are dying for quality collectibles outside of Prime 1s offerings simply because of the price. They would be right up Hot Toys alley as well due to mix media and they would have so many options for different armor sets and such. I feel like they should have jumped on the license the second it was an option.

Those (in addition to Midas and the Mark 42) are Shanghai exclusives commemorating the opening of the new store, aren't they? I could be wrong but I don't think those are the Toy Fair exclusives.
