Deployments can be tough on families. Have peace of mind at least of your dads rank. He will be in the least amount of harms way. Not that that is comforting considering he is still in a battle zone. I wish you and your family the best.

Good luck to your dad, P!tu. Just being there for your mom will be a big help.

Remember that family makes you strong. Including your Freaks family. :duff

Man, that's tough but with him being a Colonel, he will be a lot safer than the majority, if that helps any.

i'm so sorry man. how long is he going to be commissioned there for?

(shipping all my good luck P!tu's way)

we dont know! and knowing Bush and the situation probably indefinitely which is just wrong! and to know theyre are other that have been there for so long and still cant come back...

Don't worry bro, your dad will be fine, just pray to the almighty and he will come back unharmed.

My sister in law's boyfriend just came back from Iraq after 6 months being on the frontline, I will keep your dad in my prayers man.

I'm sorry to hear that, hopefully your father will come back safe and sound very soon.

My thoughts and condolences to you and your family but remember he is serving a great nation and serving the people in it. My brother just swore in to the USMC a couple months ago and my cousin just left last week and I could not be any prouder of them especially my brother who I really look up to now.

"W" won't be in there much longer. I have a friend in the Army who has been to Iraq 3 times all ready and he has come back every time without a problem (knock on wood). He runs technical support out there and I am pretty sure they take better care of the Top Brass than the computer monkeys.

Its does suck when your dads in the forces. My dads battilion has been to Iraq several times and they've been OK, all they seem to mourn about is the food and the heat.
Its what they trained to do, which is the best in the world and the crazy buggers love doing the job, it the support from home they really need.
Send him lots of parcels, keeps them happy.

I'll be praying for your dad, dude. And although it sucks for you, you can take some solace in that the casualty rates are down so low and things are stabilizing pretty well. We have just seized a huge dump of explosives described as 'crippling' to the terrorists. I have three students that have been over there off and on for a couple years now and, thank God, they have been ok.

I wish him luck. It's a job I would never ever sign up for. They have tried and offered many a time before but I like my limbs intact thank you very much.

Sorry, I am sure that didn't help. He will come back safe I am sure. :rock

I am sorry to hear that man. Deployments suck my brother-in-law was in the first wave that went in and was there for 14 months. He is now back over there but not with Guard he is working a civilian job good money I guess no taxes and all. I also have two cousin that are there now and another that has been there twice. Everyone of of them says it isn't as bad as we are told. That doesn't make it good though. As everyone else says your dad is pretty high in rank so he shouldn't be in too much crap.

all the best to your dad. think positive. hopefully he's in the rear with the gear!

please thank him for being a u.s. serviceman from all us freaks!!!

:rock :rock :rock
