Lo siento, mano! Sea fuerte!

I'll pray to Jesucristo to give you strength and to watch over your family and your Pops over there.

Well after making the Les Video! (which is uploading) I got probably the worst phone i have ever gotten (which doesnt include soembody dead).

My dad as Most of you know is in the National Guard and his a Colonel. His been working in the Texas/Mexican border for 2 years now which is dangerous enough. Well today he calls me to tell me that he will be going to Iraq. Man i dont even know what to wright this sucks my mom feels like ***** we havent told the little ones yet which we know is going to be hard. anyways...

Sorry to hear man, that is tough news especially for someone as close as a father. My step-brother got back last year and my cousin just got back last month. It's not an easy thing to deal with but all you can do is pray and try to keep a positive mind about it...

Good luck to your dad, P!tu. I'm sure that he probably won't see much of the frontlines anyway, since he's one of the top brass. My brother's been to there and Afganistan about 2 times(He's a medic who's been on the frontlines, btw). And as someone else mentioned, casualty rates are getting lower and it's not as bad as the news is making it out to be.

My little p!tu, my heart goes out to you and your family. As others have said, I'm sure your dad will be just fine. He survived your growing up years, so this should be a piece of cake!! But seriously, like many I have mixed feelings about this war, but a TON of respect for all those fighting the fight, because I know I do not have the courage to do it myself. Without these brave people, so many of our freedoms would be at stake. Stay strong, my brother......we are here for you and letting your dad know that he's in all our prayers/thoughts and has all our respect will help him through his days. And as others said, send him all kinds of goodies. I've had several friends who have been in Afghanistan and Iraq and those care packages did a lot to boost morale. He will be home soon and what a celebration at the P!tu household that will be!!!! Much love to you and your family...and God bless.

Good luck to your dad, P!tu. :duff

Do you know where in Iraq he'll be?

Thanks guys!

He is going to Camp Victory which occupies the area surrounding the Baghdad International Airport. He will be Head of Security of the entire base which is 5 kilometers and theres actually 3 more bases inside of it!!

Sorry to hear that he's going to Iraq P!tu, I must have missed the original thread. Hopefully he will return safe and sound. You're family will definitely be in my thoughts :duff

I'm sorry, Pitu! Prayers that your father stays safe and hugs for your whole family!

Hard news indeed. I feel for you bro. My little cousin (just 18) who's like a brother to me is in Afganistan right now and will be there for at least 6 more months! May the Lord help comfort you and your family during these tough times and I'll send a prayer for your Father safe return.

That's tough man. I couldn't be away for long. Life is too short for unwanted travel even if it is paying the bills. That's just my opinion.

I hope your dad stays safe. I don't pretend to know what it's like over there but I have heard it's died down significantly.

Damm I'm sorry to hear this P!tu. I hope your dad stays out of harms way and comes back home safely.

And your right. Everything is going well over there or as well as it could be. you still have douches shotting at the base and leaving road bombs but not the many. Mainly because they cant stay in one spot to long cause if they do this system the military has seeks them out and fires missiles automatically. Where things are not pretty are in Afghanistan which i hope that he doesnt have to go there after Iraq.

Just caught this thread now p!tu.
I can't even imagine what you're thinking/feeling... Be strong.
