I just can't open the exclusive cards but at least there have been very good replacement alternatives to all of them so far.

Are they really going to scrap the plastic bubbles on TVC figures? That will potentially hurt the line very badly, if not kill it altogether. Would be an awful business decision.
The Star Wars team has yet to have officially say anything yet but all the signs are pointing towards it happening. Marvel Legends just debuted their plastic-less packaging and GI Joe announced they’ll only have the 8 retro carded figures before that line ends. Seems Hasbro is really committing to their plan. The vintage collection would be the single hold out if they don’t change it. I agree it’s a huge mistake at this point but I’m in it for the figures and not the pretty garbage they are sent in. I know at least half the collecting community feels the opposite and really love the vintage packaging so it really could be a single decision that could end the line.

I have to imagine we’ll hear one way or the other on the livestream on May the 4th next week. Based on the packaging of some of the recent deluxe figures like Boba Fett and the Walmart exclusives, I have to believe the boxed look is what we’re going to get for everything going forward.

Holy crap, no more clear bubbles? Does that include the figure-tray? Wow, yeah, there goes the original 96 dream for many people.

I wonder will this extend to other companies like NECA.

I truly believe we've already seen what's going to happen with VC.

"Excellent work, my boy! Our client will be thrilled with how quickly you brought him in! Your reputation, and our profitability, will certainly grow from this!"

TVC depends on selling large volume to be profitable. Many people will stop buying these altogether and many folks who buy doubles(one to open, one sealed) will now only buy one. I open figures that go with the vehicles I buy, but I do also have a small collection of my favorite carded figures. I sure hope Hasbro understands the ramifications of this which will definitely be decreased sales leading to potential doom of the whole line.

The vintage collection is unique. The packaging is part of the appeal of the line. They might as well retire the line and launch power is the Force 42 or whatever it’s up to now to keep the new figures coming in the original scale. Plenty of Star Wars figures have been sold in other then Kenner inspired packaging. We’ll continue to buy them but if they try to pretend this line is the same without the blister bubble they are sorely out of touch.

I probably used the wrong terminology. What I meant was the plastic bubble could be biodegradable.

I think 99% or more of TVC customers would prefer that the plastic bubbles do not degrade at all. Instead of focusing on this it would be nice if Hasbro instead focused their efforts on producing plastic bubbles that don't eventually turn yellow.

man, that Anakin is awful. A real shame that this character doesn't get an all new sculpt, and instead gets a rerelease of a figure that uses parts from 2005 in 2022.

I just skipped through the Hasbro livestream in about 5 minutes, what a cringefest with those people. Not interested in any of the revealed figures. The best reveals by far were the Vader helmet and Kenobi saber. Those don't come out until next spring and there is no reason at all to preorder.

Where is the next TVC Haslab vehicle? Or even just a regular release like Mando's new hot rod ship? Star Wars collectors love vehicles!

Hasbro's release schedule is a joke. Remember when they'd have waves of figures and vehicles out before the movies came out?

Compared to now where they barely have any Mando Season 2 figures out let alone BOBF or a bunch of Obi-Wan figures lined up to capitalize on the new show's hype.

And it isn't just a "current state of the toy industry" thing because Mattel never has trouble getting figures out in time for The Batman, Jurassic World, etc.

At least in 1977 Kenner had a good excuse...

They don’t have that issue with Marvel items so it must be a Lucasfilm issue where they are keeping things too close to the vest these days. They had Mando ready to go before his show aired, likely to garner interest in a yet unproven show and media format for Star Wars. But now we don’t even get names for major characters like the Major Domo on BoBF. Just odd management.

But they do take the time to rename OT ships like the Firespray Gunship because of a select few individual's hand wringing butt hurt. Only in the backwards present day would a company that specializes in making plastic toys decide that transparent plastic packaging is a huge problem that must be addressed. Hasbro and Lucasfilm are like two perfect partners furthering some idiotic pact.
