Does anyone know why the skiff (which releases August/Fall 2019) is available for PO but the Jabba playset (which ships earlier, spring 2019) doesn't seem to be up for PO anywhere?

The one issue I have with the playset is I wish they would have fixed ReeYees' head - it was clearly too small on the initial release and it doesn't look like they fixed it for thie re-release. I thought I might cut the head off the old POTF2 Ree Yees (which despite poor articulation and being a bit bulky, is a decent sculpt) and use that on the new Ree Yees body.

Yeah, missed opportunity by the looks of it - same with Brock Starshner or whatever his name is, the guy in the white outfit with the black helmet, head too small and looks like they're rereleasing him as is.

Is this the first time that black helmeted skiff guard has ever been made into a figure? I always thought that guy looked cool. Will he get his own individual card or is he going to be part of a three-pack?

He was made years ago as part of the Black Series as I recall. Remember seeing him going for extortionate prices on eBay.

Looks like the barges may have arrived at Hasbro's warehouse? (if that is where the picture was taken, but I have no idea)

FedEx is apparently the one shipping this, and a signature will be required. I plan on sleeping in my living room so I don't miss it somehow. :lol

Here's the final HasLab insider update, complete with the instructions.

HasLab Jabba's Sail Barge Update #6
Star Wars fans,

This update will provide you with necessary shipping and receiving information since shipment of this epic item is now just days away! You may recall that the original estimated ship date was February 28, 2019. In order to deliver the best possible item to you, we will be shipping all items by March 4, 2019.

The packaging and shipping process is a multi-person undertaking that begins with the Barge being slipped into an oversized polybag to protect the item from scratches. Three specially-molded foam pieces are then used to hold both the Barge and individually-packaged collectible Jabba and Yak Face figures securely in place and safely separated from one another. Once snuggly encased in foam, the Barge's beautiful final package is carefully folded and sealed around the product.

The finished packages are loaded into a double shipper (two double-faced, heavy-duty cartons that are reinforced with corner protectors) helping the Barge and its final packaging to arrive at their destination undamaged. The final outer master carton size is a whopping four and a half feet long, one and a half feet wide, and one and a half feet deep. Did we mention shipping is included? Yeah, it is! Thank the Maker!

Once mass delivery of the product arrives in the warehouse, FedEx shipping labels will be added to the plain outer shipping cartons and sent on to individual customers. Hey, that's you! You'll then receive a tracking number notification stating that your Barge is on its way. One important note: a signature is required for delivery, so make sure you are home to accept the delivery.

Lastly, we also wanted to provide advanced access to the finalized instructions for Jabba's Sail Barge. See link below. These, of course, will be included in the package, but this way you can start to envision all the excitement you'll feel when you finally get to unbox this incredible item. Plus, if you ever lose the instructions, now you'll always have an extra set.

And with that, our marathon, year-long journey ends. May the Force be with you, Star Wars fans!

I'm getting kind of stressed about this plunge back into 3 3/4" - like I'm going to get 2/3s of what I want for retail but the rest I'm not going to be able to find at retail and is going to be $$$, and that the total of all of this whatever the outcome is going to be $$$$ (I come from a time where superarticulated 3 3/4" figures were like $6 - then I see the new skiff guards three pack PO, two of them straight BS re-issues, for $40.)

I think the weird thing of the skiff being sold out freaked me out a bit - I have a PO in place, but it was still weird. Just want to preorder the Jabba playset and I'll feel better.:lol

Yeah, he's a bit of a pin head, but I think they got the proportions of the head wrong vs it being majorly undersized.

What's interesting about the only "new" figure in the skiff guards three pack - Vedain - is that it's mostly a kitbashed figure where Hasbro seems to have used the exact same old figure parts that this customizer on RS used...

I hear you about getting stressed. My problem is, I’ve been buying all the guards, goons and even a couple of skiffs, all on the assumption I’ll be actually able to get the Barge, and I’ve just been going on Hasbros word that it would be available internationally. I’m in Australia so I don’t actually have one secured yet, so I’ll be waiting impatiently for the eBay release date and hoping I can get one.

The distribution fiasco of the Barge is a total disgrace. You will be paying the cost of the thing again just to ship it, let alone import fees. And that is if you even log on in time with 1k available to the entire planet.

I go into local bargain shops and see the shelves littered with useless Hasbro products that they cannot give away. Yet I would have payed £300-£400 for one of these. But I cannot have one because I live outside the USA, so it cost me closer to £1k. Which is totally unrealistic for this.

This item might be the final straw that sees me stop buying this scale. Something I have been doing since 1980.

Cheers Hasbro.

We'll see. I am a little worried how much it'll be. I'm pretty sure this ebay arrangement isn't what we had in mind when they said they'd make the Barge available outside the US. I'm off up to the bank to lodge some money to my VISA that will leave 1000euro worth of space on my card. I'm hoping that'll be more than enough but I don't know for sure. If it ends up costing over a grand I might just have to reconsider continuing to collect 3.75'' Star Wars aswell because if the Sailbarge exists and I can't have it I fear that would spoil my whole collection on me. It's something I've wanted since it all began back in '95/'96. Continuing to buy other stuff after I've either missed (due to too few of them being made) or passed on the Sailbarge (due to a price I couldn't justify) could seem moot and wasteful at that point.

Yeah I feel pretty much the same way. If I miss the Barge, I’m completely out of the 3.75 scale, even though all I have are Jabbas Palace characters and skiff guards. 1000 for the rest of the world seems ludicrous. My main concern is them allowing people to buy as many as they want, and some cashed up scalper buying a big lot of them. I fear the window the buy these will probably be a few minutes to a few hours at most, which means pretty much setting my clock to the minute they go up for sale on eBay.

Just wanted to add my voice to the people outside the US who are complaining about how Hasbro have handled the Barge. They've shown a complete lack of respect for anyone who's not in the US, and making it 'available' on eBay - with massive customs charges and shipping not to mention that 'global shipping program' BS - is just insulting. Here, insignificant foreigners, scrabble around for the 10% of barges that were left over after all the American buyers bought two or three (Rebelscum's thread has a bunch of people saying they'll pay for their own barge by buying and selling a couple more). They needed to make this properly available.

The Barge is so cool looking that it might well have got me back into collecting this scale for the first time in ten years. I'm sure I'm not alone in that.

Someone on Rebelscum made the point that we do appear to have access to various other exclusives via online UK stores. A fair point, although, as I mentioned if for one reason or another I can't get a Barge those other items and figures might end up moot.

So you're saying the Barge just isn't important enough or explored enough in the movie for you to want it as a toy.

Because a toy of the Barge was always going to involve creative license - I assume you're not disappointed that they added cool distinct areas like the cockpit, the kitchen and the armory.

This would have been the ultimate playlet as a kid. Shame I don't have the space as I would have secured one when they were reaching the goal. I imagine the appeal is the nostalgia of it all. Looking forward to seeing Jabbas barge in hand pics.

Does anyone know where the ebay thing will be announced?

I just can’t bring myself to pay $500 for an item that is filled with creative license (circa 2017) and never existed in the movie.

Yeah, I tend to agree - what was cool about say the Falcon in 1970's was that everything internally was related to what went on in the movie: chess, cannons, training remote, opening ramp, hiding compartment.

I probably would have preferred a more stripped-down barge interior that was $100 less than superfluous stuff like the kitchen. Stuff like the jail cell works because we saw the dungeon onscreen.

What might have been a cooler alternative was to build on what's seen in the movie - like instead of a galley, a "party" area where Reeyees and Yakface have their face-off where you can pose all the denizens drinking/fighting or whatever with a little drinks dispensary corner where R2 gets his tray/supplies with an included the all-white drinks tray R2 unit. Just stuff that directly stems from what you see in the movie (or cut scenes) rather than wasting resources for a kitchen with hanging meat or armory/"repair bench" etc. that is kinda two whole rooms of dead space.
