Awesome pic! What is the weight of this guy? Does he have the HEFT that we love to talk about when we discuss Fanstoys products?

for you weight and size...

sludge weights 44 oz... prime weighs 61...

then slap on another 6oz for the gun!

some others asked over on tfw...
so figured post here too for those that wanna know....

takes 4 AG13 batteries. here is the light up function in normal room lighting...

and here's an HDR pic to get close to realistic colors in a bright room.

Eh I wouldn't say it's much to compare unless if you're just talking about build quality. One tries to cater to the G1 fans while this design is strictly based off of Bayformer Prime.

Having both, I would say that the paint apps on the 3A seems to be a little higher quality. But realistically that's the only thing you can compare the two with as they are two completely different animals.

I don't think feeling one has better value over the other warrants any kind of "shooting" or criticism. While HT prime is a G1 design, the asking price for it was extremely unreasonable IMO. And when you compare it to 3A's bad boy...there's really no debate as to which one is better for your hard earned money. This guy easily towers over HT prime, is far more detailed and features more moving parts. And it costs a little over $400. HT costs close to $350, is smaller, comes with decepticon parts that make no sense whatsoever unless they wanted to design their own murderous prime...you do the math.

Of course it all comes down to what you prefer. A G1 inspired prime, or a bayformer prime. If HT prime had cost $200, then get that. But it's still running for $350, excluding shipping and tax.

My vote and dollars go to 3A. It's just no contest.

I really want this figure. Is there only one version of this figure or is there one with only the blades and without the gun?

there were 2. the exclusive that was thru bambaland last year that had the gun as a bonus which is long sold out. the rest available are the same figure w/ no gun.

This turned out really great for the most part. just wish 3A would've made the pieces of the hood more perpendicular to the body and inset some like how it is in the movie/3D render instead of sloping so far down. If that's something that can be adjusted then I would consider buying this even though i have 4Ever's revised DMK01 figure

If this figure was designed and sold by Hot Toys, it'll be north of 650 dollars. I really have to commend 3a for being extremely reasonable when it comes to pricing. I have their bumble bee and it is the most complex and tallest robotic figure I have and paid not much more than a 1/6 scale Mark 43 die-cast.

I think 650 is being way generous. If the hulk buster is anything to go by, a movie prime this size from HT would run upwards towards $950. It's just the way they price things because they know they can. It's a shame.

Where can I buy this besides bad as colectibles

I feel like if HT was going to charge people 350 and make a very high end G1, they should at least attempt to make them transform since the design is pretty basic (and many many companies have made it transform). Bayformer can only be transformable via CGI so I understand why it can't transform as a figure.

Name another company that can make Transformer toys transform besides Hasbro/Takara. You can't make any Transformers products that can transform. Licensing agreement issues.
