It makes me shudder when I hear of earthquakes and my prized collection. This thread should be deleted.

We've been having a **** ton of earthquakes in Oklahoma for the past 3-4 years or so. It's strange because I don't remember there ever being earthquakes here before.

I think it has slowed down a bit, but at one point there would be like 4.0-5.0 earthquakes every month.

Are these la earthquakes close to the area that is due to have a huge earthquake?

The San Andreas fault is one of the largest in so cal and would have a large effect over a very wide area from the high desert all the way to the coast. Also remember that San Francisco has a history of large quakes as well. People have been talking about the "big one" since I was a kid, and even though the Northridge quake was big with a lot of damage it wasn't the big one. I felt the one last night at around 8 and saw thing visibly moving in my home. I'd still take earthquakes over tornadoes and hurricanes and day of the week.

Yeah the theory is a little jolt every now and then is actually good because it relieves some pressure.
If the big one ever hits it'll be after a very long drought free of earthquakes or aftershocks.

I just moved to La Habra last month and I can't believe the earthquake generated from there. It was crazy, we had 4 days straight of earthquakes there! Good thing I didn't finish displaying my collection.

what's the best way to secure your statues asides from wall anchors for deltofs? Tacky putty for the base of statues or something like that- thanks in advance

First I would NEVER use those in CA. But if you are, I would secure the cabinet to wall, then add quake hold to all the bars that the glass attaches to and then quake hold the statues. I have use it on pretty much everything.
