Can't see any zombie in this guy. 80% of Russians looks like this on winter mornings while going to their works by the metro.

the sculpt is modeled after the nasty gas mask zombie from WALKING DEAD S3 EP1. LOVED IT!!!

i'm slowly teaching myself how to sculpt as well as paint figures. eventually i'll tackle tailoring, but i don't want to completely overload myself.

i just started on this today, so this is very in-progress, but worth sharing, i think. the head cavity is an old DML figure, the in-progress 'face' is putty. right now i'm trying to model some musculature over the skull. i'll accomplish a lot of the gore during the paint phase. i'm trying to build this up n actual layers - bone, muscle, gore/sinew, blood, etc.

this isn't going to be a principal figure zombie but rather an in-diorama component zombie or maybe the aftermath of a zombie attack. either way it will be part of a fixed 3-figure diorama. so, a zombie, a victim and a zombie killer.

thanks for looking. i'll post better photos as the project unfolds.

DAY 2

here's an update - the sculpt has been refined. as well, thinking it thru, i decided to add additional irregular tearing along the forehead line. i think this will better lend itself to a zombie face-maul victim as per the specs of my upcoming dio.

That's a ton to have on your plate! Good luck, doing all of this yourself is soooooo time consuming, but makes figures that much more amazing.

hehe - i think what i mean to say is that i way to be proficient enough to call myself an 'adept hack'. that would suit me just fine if i *need* to sculpt/resculpt, or i *need* to tailor something, for example, i'll be able to do so. i'm not necessarily implying i want to create everything from scratch. that would be insane(ly cool).
