I do wander about that at times. But I'm pretty sure LED's have a LONG life span so as long as everything inside holds up, we should all be safe displaying with the lights on for quite a while.

This question was posed to Master Replicas regarding their FXs and their LEDs. I'm not sure if its an LED thing or just their unit thing but their's goes for 10,000 hours (continuous) I believe...
