The Hot Toys Robocop figure is the one Hot Toys figure on my want list that I haven't been able to get. Today I saw that BBTS had unearthed what is apparently a V.1 Robocop new in the box for $169. Given how long these have been sold out, that doesn't sound like too bad a deal for a new one, so I bought it. But before I have my "pile of loot" shipped, I wanted to double check. First of all, does that sound like a good price? Also, am I missing out on anything major by getting version 1 instead of the others? (I couldn't care less about the rocket pack.)

This is the box. I assume this is v.1? Thanks for your help.

Good price and it is the best IMO. Best paint apps. Classic piece, but make sure there aren't any helmet paint app "smudges" when you get it. Apparently in the first run of these many of the helmet pieces were placed into the black trays before they had completely dried and I had replace mine.

You did the right thing! Good price, right box, right Robo. Missing: NOTHING! Who wants a RoboCop 3 Robo anyway? Gun arm? Flight pack? Ridiculous movie! :D

On a second thought, now you have the ultimate RoboCop figure, you ARE missing something: the ultimate ED209! If you don't have it already that is...

Yeah, I do want the ED209, but the talk about degradation of that figure makes me wary.

Yes, I understand that very well, but... I know you won't like this... keeping it IN the box apparently helps! :D Anyway, mine is fine!
Foolishness set aside, I know 'the box' is no permanent solution. I hope someone comes up with a remedy for the problem, or at least the exact explanation WHY this rubber is behaving the way it is.
I think that HT should come up with a repair program for the ED209's, it's a $200 collectible after all. They must have the molds of the dome somewhere in the archives. So, why not recast the dome in a durable material, and offer it for a reasonable price (if not free + shipping!) to collectors that have a 'degenerated' ED? As far as I'm concerned, I don't think it is much of a joy looking at a ED209 with a messed up dome...

Only thing my v1 lacks that was included on the Robocop 3 version was the removeable helmet. That really is the only thing I didn't like about mine. other than that, absolutely fantastic figure and one I will likely never part with.

Yes, but on the other hand the removeable helmet sits too high, while the version 1 sits perfectly.

i got Robo v2 since it's basically the same as v1 and i love the gun arm. would've liked the more detailed sculpt and removable helm of v3 but it just sits way to high. thankfully my ED doesn't appear to be degrading. anyway, great score! surprised BBTS didn't list him higher lol

It's the same figure as the V2 with a slightly different paintjob, just need to buy a neutral stand and Robocop 3 has dissapeared from the fig. If it was really a Robocop 3 fig they should have made a different headsculpt wich they didn't. For these reasons, i'm comfortable pretending it's the original robocop.

I haven't seen a RC3 figure in person, so you're probably right. Perhaps I was being a bit harsh there. I'm just happy to have the first version because I think RC one & two rock. I really don't like anything that has been put to celluloid after RC2, that's all.

I have a v.1. and had a Robocop 3 w/gunarm. There was NO DICERNABLE DIFFERENCE in the paint or sculpt between the two. Only difference was different box art, v.2 gunarm accessory, and v.2 Robocop 3 stand.

As pjam mentioned there were some issues with the paint on the back of the head rubbing off against the tray. Luckily mine only has a very slight smudge, barely noticeable.
