Super Freak
So, I awoke at 6am yesterday morning to the sound of the cab that I had ordered for 6.30am knocking on my door. After a swift run downstairs to answer the door I got dressed and headed out to catch my early train to Milton Keynes.
Unfortunately, because I'm a tool I forgot my DV Cam so I couldn't actually get any footage.
Nor did I arrive in Milton Keynes until 11.30am because some penis thought It would be a great idea to throw himself in front of the train 3 miles outside of Milton Keynes leaving me stuck on a non-moving train for 2 extra hours!!!!!!
I was not impressed.
However, that changed once I got to the venue and met one of the nicest, friendliest chaps I have ever had the opportunity to meet, Mr. Brandon Routh.
Now this guy had a HUGE queue and had been signing since 9.00am, nor did his queue dwindle throughout the day. By 5pm he had signed some 900 autographs and taken 2 hours for a photo shoot.
So, as a result of this Brandon wasn't posing for photos at his signing table. Still I managed to grab a few shots.
He was really gracious and when he said 'Hello' (just like he does in the film...) I swear that something inside my head exploded. I was talking to SUPERMAN!!!!!!
Even when I expounded (albeit breifly) on the reasons why the film wasn't as good as it should have been, he kind of assented but said that he was just happy to be playing Superman and hoped that they'd 'cut back' a bit for the next one (which was VERY reassuring).
Hell of a fella.
As I said, in the afternoon Brandon took time to do a photo shoot with fans posing for a professional camera person. I obviously popped along to this and had my photo taken posing alongside the Man of Steel (I was still taller than him - Ho, Ho, Ho - but not by much).
He was really, very impressive in the way that he conducted himself with the fans all day long. Unfortunately, due to time constraints the photo shoot pictures weren't available to collect and will have to be sent out to me. Naturally, I'll post it here as soon as it arrives.
I also met a few other folks but my favourite moment of the day was when I went for a piss and was stood in between Mr. Fukutu from Casino Royale (Tom So) and Jones from Police Academy (Michael Winslow) but was disappointed that he wasn't making any wacky sounds whilst he was having a piss.
He later followed me into Burger King and he didn't even make any of the comedy eating sounds either.
So here's some more pics from yesterday :-
This dude is Mark Lutz who played the Grusillog in the Angel TV show.
The stunning Charisma Carpenter (Cordelia in Buffy/Angel). I also had a photo session with her, James Marsters (Spike) and Anthony Head (Giles) but again, haven't got the prints yet.
He's not a Python he's a very old man (Terry Jones) - who has a 29 year old wife who is a fox....
That cheeky, sexy cylon Grace Park (Boomer)
The 5th Doctor (Peter Davidson)
The voice of the Wombles, Harry from the 60's Dalek Movies and a lot of other britosh stuff - Bernard Cribbins
Finally, the woman of my dreams, the always lovely, ever smiley Sophie Aldred. She's ACE! (pun intended)
