I could be wrong... but the series looks somewhat half-assed from this preview. Not much of an origins (must have been the phosphorescent water) which could work if the tone was more humorous, but I didn't really get that from the preview.

I'll probably check it out; but looks like they're trying to get a bump from Heroes w/o trying to make it unique or interesting.

Well we won't know that until we see the first episode but i'm hoping it's good i'm always looking for new shows to watch.

That sounded to me more like rationalization then set explanation. In other words, the origin could BE the show...them trying to figure out why it happened, and what is happening to them.

Also, think of the Incredibles. Excellent movie....but never even attempts an origin story (besides Syndrom).

True, but Pixar can pull off some incredible (pun intended) stuff... not as confident in ABC

Ok, heres my only worrie. Will this sprial off course like POOR POOR HEROS did. I mean after the writer strike that show was just a steaming plie of pooh who only fans were those who just didn't want to come to terms with how bad the show had gotten (hello can you say CANCELLED).

They have to keep the story contained I think. They can't be having 10,000 different superheros all with revolving story lines. I think if they keep it mainly to the family and them dealing with it, it could be great. Unfortunately though I could see this spiraling out of control pretty quickly.

Oh yeah, the black sidekick is.....cliche'. I mean why bring in a powerless Frozo in the picture. I'll tell you why. to get that black reaction that the white hollywood machine is so famous for.

Prime example: the black guy who freaked out when clark turned in to Superman in the revolving door in the 1st Reeves movie.
