I hope they have a really great nemisis that fleshes out the plot. I'm so sick of the cliché "G-MAN" squad that works for some off the books goverment agentcy & the whole 1st season's plot revolves PRIMARILY around their powers getting exposed. Because I'm really tired of that old story.

The trailer felt like a cheesy made for TV movie. Didnt get me excited to see it at all, but I will give it a shot.

I thought the first episode was great! And it was alot funnier that I was expecting too.

Already can't wait for next week's ep! :rock

Yea, I'd say it was sort of a Heroes Lite. More fun, less serious. Both Chiklas and Benz were good (and their friends that they brought in were hilarious), but the two kids annoyed me the entire time. Hopefully they'll improve.

Some of the plot points are a tad too convienent - you know what I'm talking about - but I thought the

Obama robber being a super as well was interesting, althought the comparisons to Heroes are now inevitable, since they'll have many of the same powers. Then again, the comparisons from Heroes to X-men were just as inevitable.

Worth watching for a couple more weeks though to see where they take it.

I didn't mind JJ but Daphne did get on my nerves! kids like her always do though. Still she doesn't annoy me as much as Max on parenthood. :lol

Hey Hey, leave Max alone:lol

it all sounds good in theory but can you actually imagine being able to hear what people really REALLY think about you? You'd never have any friends at all. Nobody thinks great thoughts about their friends all the time. So unlike Clare (from Heroes) who would always be a virgin, this chippie from NOF is always gonna hear the worst thoughts guys come up with just to get laid. Suckeroonie

Yeah it's not a power i'd want that's for sure. If i was going to get any of those powers i'd have taken the one Jim got, but if i could have any at all then it would be invisibility, you could have some real fun with that one. :naughty :lol :wink1:

I thought it was very well done. Has a ton of potential and decent character development for a first show. And, to those that were upset by the preview of a "generic origin story" I laugh at you. I said from the begining that was only the Wife's summation of the origin. It's obviously a lot deeper then some glowing water.

Third, love that thier powers are tied to their insecurities/needs. I'm hoping that plot point is developed:

The mom needs time and is insecure about not being there when she is needed, she gets super speed.

The daughter is self concious and consumed by what other people are thinking of her...she gets telepathy.

Son is insecure about his learning disability..he becomes a super genious.

Dad works around cops, wants to make a difference, feels like less of a man then he should and powerless...he becomes 1940s superman!

Bank robber gets Nightcralwer ability allowing for excellent evasive capabilites

Only thing I didnt like about the show last night was one line "my wife had become successful in her career as a research scientist". WHAT? Thats about as generic as you get...might as well have said "my wife had become successful in her career as random smart job A".

Oh, and finally...of COURSE the powers overlap with Mavel/DC characters...I dare you to come up with powers that havent been done before. Super speed, super strenght, telepathy, super intelligence? I mean those are not owned by a comic character....they are just kinda generic super abilities.

:lol

Yeah superspeed is only fun if you are shot in slo-mo, otherwise you are just dirt and trash in everybody's eyes. Invisibility is the way to go you dirty rascal

Another good ep...plus I notice another Dexter actor in addition to Julie Benz; one of the mothers is played by the actor that played Arthur Mitchell's wife.

Yea, that actress has been in a ton of stuff over the years.

Another good episode last night, and I didn't see

the cop actually getting killed coming. Maybe he's a bad shot even with his mind and he just grazed her :D

I like that the kid is hiding his super genius from the parents too - it's setting up for something interesting. I also like that they are now unsure of the origin of the powers...good stuff.
