Accessories: yay or nay?

For many people, I can imagine less accessories would end up costing more money.

Imagine if they split the figures with lots of accessories like T-1000 (cop/biker cop) or the T-800(reg/battle damaged) into separate figures. I doubt the price would drop in half. I don't think removing accessories would drop the cost that much. I think for most people it's actually more cost effective to have more accessories. If they had to release a different figure for each "variation", it would be just overwhelming.

For me, a lot of the appeal is the ability to pose and to accessorize to my liking. Otherwise, it is effectively same figure for all owners and at that point you might as well buy a statue.

I already have a big plastic box full of various accessories, each one packed safe in bubble wrap and everything. From time to time I might get some out and re-display my figures (or statues/busts) with other accessories. For example some guns I have displayed with the figures, and others are on small stands or next to the figures. In conclusion I like extra accessories, as long as they are not a simple excuse to make the product much more expensive.

A different take on the cost of accessories is the tradition. Action figures have always been about a figure plus accessories. These things are the flagship products in the action figure genre - so they just gotta have the kit to walk the walk.

their a must have, high end figures must have these accessories, i would not shell out 180 plus for a figure without them. look at royce for example he's a awesome figure, but he would not look right without his awesome shotgun. so for me you need them. not that i will ever sell them but they lose value if they are not complete.

It's one of those things where most people don't use them, but if they weren't included people would moan about it.

I like the way sideshow does things with accessories as exclusives. Didn't care at all for She-hulk's extra parking meter hand, so I got the reg, and saved myself $$$ and don't have a useless part I will never use kicking around.

you aren't kidding there.. I have one or two guns that i want to add to my collection and simply cannot find.
At the same time, I don't see many pictures of people using those weapons with their figures.
