Add a Neck for Vader Bust Stand?

That was the first thought I had after seeing the actual stand. If they would add the bottom 'neck' piece for the mask to fit onto, then they wouldn't need that top piece of the stand, the helmet would just sit on the face mask, just like it does on the full display. It would ALSO make it so you could sit the unmasked portrait on there, and it would look good. So much better than having to store the unmasked portrait separately.

That one change would really make this bust a 'Must Purchase' for me. Right now, I'm on the fence.

I actually think they'd make a better display if there wasn't a neck piece. That way it's obvious that the free-standing mask and dome are supposed to go on the bust.

i see where you guys are coming from, the mask looks weird without the neck, however, i agree with DD on this one, the neck is attached to the reveal and wouldnt make sense having two neck pieces on the same display....imo

It is true that the stand for the Vader mask is not finalized yet, I'll pass this thread along! No guarantees, as they will have to figure out production costs, etc, but the least I can do is make your request known

Hopefully a no frills neck piece is production cost feasible.

Dusty, or any Sideshow rep that comes by this thread, is the stand going to be made to also support the Anakin portrait, as all reports seem to indicate you have to remove that to put the mask on the bust.

All the pictures shown so far and info released indicate that the stand is just for holding the helmet and face mask. The stand would have to be huge to also have a spot for a human head to attach to it somewhere.

That's what I gather too, but it'd be nice to have a place to store the Anakin head safely besides the box when you want to have the full Vader helmet on the bust.

You actually were not alone galactiboy, as I said this before in the Vader Bust Thread... that's good you asked Sideshow maybe my intuition about the neck piece will actually bring us what we really want:chew... fingers crossed

One of the upgrades that could be done on the bust should be sitting of the dome on the mask, in full front view, you can indeed see internal components just under the dome. Its not really gorgeous and I really hope Sideshow will solve that slight problem. To be picky enough, we should also notice that the dome is a bit too widened, if SS could fix it also that would be awesome.

And I agree with you, Globelicker, about the way the dome sits on the piece. I wasn't sure if that is how the dome would always sit, or if it was placed that way for some reason. But I hope with the final piece the internal components are not as visible.
