I would go for LED lighting. No Heat and very little problems with UV regarding leaving on all day you could do but personally I would buy a plug timer just for safety. Amazon do alot of kits for LED strip lighting for a tight budget and you can cut it to the size you require. It also allows you to change the color of lighting.

Know if those Saxby 13845 Chop LED Strip Kit White lights are a white light or the yucky yellow white colour like the new ones from ikea?

Just thought I'd ask - for about 2 years I've had a desk lamp in range of a few figures, it was using a 40w 240v g9 halogen bulb. I'm curious if I should change, as I'm so used to the ambience from this type of bulb in at the desk I work at and would like to avoid hunting for an LED equivalent in terms of brightness/warmth unless it is either easy or necessary lol.


edit: also - I've got a 4.2w LED screwcap colour changing bulb (with remote) It seems pretty dim but I've been unable to find a colour changing/coloured LEDs that go brighter. Anybody else found anything? Would a brighter white LED bulb with gels be any better?
