from where i'm at i can see alot of cup holders for cars, some can be clipped onto the rear of the neck support structure of the front seat unless you are using bucket seats.

You must not have strong friends if they cant even hold onto their coffee cups during a car trip. How about you make them chip in for cup holders to be installed or just tell them the cup holder is outside the window if they ask.

Why not just get one that sits on the seat between two people in the back. I used to have one of those and it worked just fine.

The door bottle holders work fine for coffee.
