Jumbled thoughts on the latest ep: Reuniting the original team from season one was fun....the hedgehog joke was hilarious...I like how they are tying things together with AOU with Dr. List showing up again again after his appearance with Strucker at the end of Winter Soldier ..Skye saying Ward was like Candyman was amazing.... Loved Coulson's spoiler alert and seeing Maria Hill at the end was sweet. Had no clue what the theta protocol was but was excited when I found out....

Bring on AOU!

Bring on AOU!

I loved everything you listed about the episode! :rock

Coulson's "Spoiler alert" was awesome! :lol

Episode was a great way to lead into the movie. Can't wait to see the movie then find out the after effects on the show

What the hell, Coulson didn't show up in AOU, booooo. I was hoping they learned that he was alive, especially since his death in 1 was such a big deal. Missed opportunity and my only gripe against AOU. Maybe it was never in the script or they filmed it and it was deleted.

He was never going to be in it. There's no way they can bring Coulson back into the films without it being confusing for people that don't watch the show. Can you imagine a scene where they try to explain that he's back from the dead because of some alien blood Fury gave him? Makes sense to us, but would be really stupid to everyone else.

Maybe by Infinity War Pt.2 they'll figure out a way to give him a cameo, perhaps by including the alien and it's miraculous blood in one of the films, but it seems unlikely. Although, I guess now they can use the blood on Quicksilver lol.

I think AOU introduced a new way for people to come back from the dead.

The machine that repaired Hawkeye and created Vision. So Quicksilver could come back somehow

I can't wait to see the next episode to see the fallout of the movie. So many things they could go with

Good point. Thanks for the response.

Rogue Sentry plot anyone?

btw: What was with Raina's prediction, so stupid, it might as well have been "I see..... things, great things happening on screens everywhere, I see........... a great movie, go see Age of Ultron, buy your tickets at Fandango.com" :lol

Yeah, seemed really forced.... :lol

So now that Strucker has been killed Hydra should pretty much be wiped out for a while until Zemo emerges?

I figured Coulson wouldn't be in Ultron. Agents of SHIELD didn't even remotely set him up to be in it. But it did seem to put SHIELD back together with Fury in charge. I'd think SHIELD and other SHIELD would be merged now that Fury is alive and well. :dunno There ought to be some big changes next week unless the next few episodes are supposed to be before and during Ultron.

But honestly, I don't know how much longer they can keep Coulson being alive from the Avengers. Cap, Widow, and Hawkeye have GOT to find out sooner or later hanging out with SHIELD so much. They fact they don't know he is alive is what is (story-wise) keeping them from appearing on Agents of SHIELD, which frankly they really need to start doing. AoS just isn't feeling connected enough without more 'big names' dropping in. I'm hoping Hill will become a series regular next season now that HIMYM is over and her employment with Stark seems to be at an end. And having Fury, Widow, and Barton pop in every few episodes would help big time. I just don't feel they've made watching AoS regularly enough of a reward for the viewers. This should be adding to the film experiences, but it just seems so separated. More interaction with the film characters would really help make it feel connected. Chicago Fire and Chicago PD have the best cross-over interaction I've ever seen done. So seamless. Those two shows really feel like one universe with each show just focusing on part of it. AoS feels like its own, inferior universe at the moment to me with the occasional visit from a "higher form of entertainment" character.

Unfortunately won't happen because Disney feels that if fans can see those primary characters on their TV's that they won't pay to see them up on the big movie screen.

I felt that after Coulson escaped from Gonzales and went solo that they were setting him up for an appearance in AOU.

But nope! :slap

I am so disappointed about his absence from AOU that I'm actually considering to no longer watch AOS!

i thnk that Coulson is still running the show and not Fury. He called in the Avengers in the last episode to retrieve the sceptre which is the lead in to the beginning of the film. I'm guessing he told Fury and Hill to pull SHIELD back in. I would agree that Coulson needs to be worked back into the films, or some of the major characters making cameos in the TV show to better link the story lines of the two together. I find it hard to believe that the Avengers can be left in the dark this long about Coulson and what his team has been involved in. I did see Jimmy Kimmel a week or so ago and he had the full Avengers cast on the show. Clark Gregg made a brief appearance and asked the cast if any of them would be interested in making an appearance on the show. Chris Evans said yes. could be a hint that we'll see more crossover in the future? The fact it was even brought up makes me think something is in the works.

I hope so! He was such an important part linking everything in phase 1 together that having him alive but disconnected from everyone else is jarring. I imagine his reveal will be a big moment for the Avengers because they're going to feel Fury lied to them. I'm actually surprised Ultron didn't try to use that against them in this film. It certainly would have torn them apart the way his death brought them together. I'm guessing that is the downside of the TV show. They've got him on such a tight schedule with the TV show, it doesn't leave a lot of free time to get him into the movies again. They'd have to plan his appearances out so far in advance so they could shoot them during the summer when the TV show is on hiatus, which isn't always when they are shooting these films. I guess they're just not willing to do that with what they feel is a minor character. But they easily could have done it here because Spader is on the same TV schedule with the Black List. Makes me wonder how limited Ultron's future appearances will be now if the Black List continues to be on the air.

Marvel is a master at manipulating shooting schedules, that's not it.

I don't even think Coulson will be in the deleted scenes, I believe they just didn't want him in the story for whatever reason, what a missed opportunity, I really enjoy his character, he started on the big screen in the MCU.

:goodpost:

But I'll continue watching it, was just blowing off some steam. :lol

I for certain thought Coulson would be making an appearance in AOU after the Kimmel show had him on with the others, even though the topic and ball busting was about the Avengers making an appearance on the show.

Saw Avenger last night. Great film. Don't see the need for Coulson or any AOS to show up in the film. If it would've furthered or added to the story, then it would have been nice, otherwise just cramming characters in for a cameo takes away from the overall flow of the film.
