I think purist would disagree. While Pryor and Jean were clones, the similarity stops there. And the Goblin Queen, even dressed as the Black Queen, is still the Goblin Queen. There have been several Black Queens; Its like having a President. The office remains the same, but the person who holds it changes. I wouldn't display Selene's Black Queen with a Jean Black Queen statue, unless you were doing a "history of the Black Queen" thing. And then any and all Black Queens would fit nicely.

That being said? Classic Maddy Pryor Goblin Queen is one of my favorite character designs.

Most definitely; Gobs and Jean are definitely too different characters, I was just speaking from a purely visual standpoint. Your point definitely stands in that you would know the woman on the cover isn't Jean, but visually, you could tell yourself it is, heh.

I hate Greg Land as a comic artist, but he creates some nice looking "pin up" work.

The perfect display comic just hit the racks today, Uncanny X-Men #505 Variant edition.

I'm about 10 issues behind on this book, but I thought this is Black Queen, although I'm sure the Mike will step in if I'm wrong.

That would be Madeline Pryor the Goblin Queen as prefaced by the Goblins in the background and artist Greg Land confirmed it a little bit ago he did say though that it was the Goblin Queen even though people are assuming she'll be the new Black Queen.... I know the question was answered but since my name is so rarely in a post I figured I'd chime in as well.

She was most traditionally shown like this:

and was a creation of Mr. Sinister because he believed a child of Scott Summers and Jean Grey would be a mutant of great power. Sinister created a clone of Jean specifically to fall in love with Scott and produce a child. (The child, it would later be revealed, was Sinister's intended secret weapon against his master Apocalypse.) When Phoenix took her own life, a part of the Phoenix Force entered the clone and gave it life. Sinister named the clone "Madelyne Pryor," created a false background and implanted memories, and sent her to Alaska where she and Scott Summers met and fell in love.
However once Jean Grey returned to life Madelyne was no longer needed and indeed a liabilty, and Sinister ordered his Marauders to kill her and retrieve the child. The child of course is Cable.

I'd love to see AH! take a crack at this with the classic design.

same here, i just have to get emma and MJ, just at $350 they seem a little steep to me. i don't know maybe when i have all of the black cat, rogue and black queen, i'll make the plunge for the other two.
