I figured I'd chime in for a first post to these boards: I have this figure and although it's very unstable (I guess due to the small feet, heavy upper body, and giant tail), it is pretty sturdy. It's taken at least three tumbles from a 4 foot shelf onto the floor (carpet) without a scratch. I just wish it had come with a stand like the predators. Amazing figure at any rate.

:welcome

Welcome to the board, bubbahotep, and offering your perspective! It's good to hear it's hearty enough to take a tumble or two (or four).

how do you have him posed?

I think the aliens are meant to be posed on all fours?

I posted this in the original Aliens Colonial Marines thread, thought I should post them here as well.
Some new pictures of my Marines. I took their crappy plastic boots off and replaced them with modern cloth Dragon combat boots. Now the shin armor fits better.

I wish Newline would make a pair of Nam' type boots, the ones they're wearing are all black but the same style.

damn i never get tired of seeing pics of these marines.

SM, how much are those boots and are they similar to what they wore in the movie? Where can I find those?

I bought mine for $10 a set, they also come with an extra pair of plastic tan colored boots. There's another set that's the opposite, cloth desert tan color boots with plastic black ones.
They're identical in style, just that the Nam boots have OD green cloth uppers, these are solid black. They can look a little small on Hot Toys bodies but they're the closest cloth ones out there.
A bunch of these recently became available again a couple of months ago at War-Toys and Monkey Depot but most are long gone. War-toys still has the tan cloth set though.

If you dont mind could you post a side profile of those boots?

Here's some images of a little bit of custom work I did. The Bishop head you'll probably recognize as sideshow's the Apone head I sculpted. Both heads have moving eyes and real-like hair. Bishop's suit isn't exactly screen accurate. The screen caps that I was grabbing where to dark hehe.

Love love love that Bishop bro. Great work with these and I am Totally diggin the real hair! :clap

Callous, nice customs! Apone looks sweet, and Bishop, well outstanding! I don't want to collect the marines, but a Bishop would be swell to go with my Alien and Ripley.

WOW! That Bishop gives Les Walker's a run for his money!

Is the Bishop a Sideshow sculpt retooled... or something else. It looks fanastic. And I usually don't like hair on 1/6, but it really fits him amazingly well!

Good lord callous!!!

Now that is some amazing heads you have there!! The hair looks so mcuh better than any hair I have seen in 1:6. Bishops hair seems to lay very natural.

And Apone looks feakin awesome!

AND MOVING EYES!!?!?!?!?!?!?

Gotta say callous, you give any customizer a run for their money!!!

That Bishop figure is beautiful! It appears that you shrunk the head, do you have any copies available?

I love what you did to the armor on Apone, that lower torso armor is the one place I think Hot Toys could've worked a little harder on. I was thinking of eventually doing that myself.
