I realized earlier that the reason I adore this statue so much and it's pose is because of this

Completely unrelated but it's one of my favorite bosses in a video game.

"I admire its purity. A survivor..unclouded by conscience, remorse, or delusions of morality"

The only advantage??? Well that is a bit far... But if both are plastic then NECA wins because of Price alone.

Articulated figure VS Status...a hard topic.
But in terms of accuracy, the sculpts itself neca is way more accurate than this one. Give the new neca 1/4 big chap a standing pose, it looks like the actually suit.
And we all know the paint job of sideshow's, neca managed to give a good paint job on teeth to a 7 inch alien figure, while sideshow can't get it right on a 1/2 bust.
Anyway, we should stop here.

As an owner of bother figures, the lsb big chap and the neca 1/4 big chap snarling version, I only have nice words for both of them. They are stunning both and they look awesome together! However I agree with you about the teeth. Incredible that neca nails the alien teeth and sideshow do not. It is something that could be fixed but for a 400€ figure, this kind of things should be fixed from the beginning.

Anyway I would never sell my bust I absolutely love it, for me the best representation of the big chap's head and at a wonderful 1/2 size.

The new Neca 1/4 big chap for me is the most acurated version of the big chap. And that's why I will expose them together. Belive me or not but you should see it in person before give an opinion.

I am sorry for what I will say now but as an Alien fan, when I saw other figures, maquettes, statues..., that actually cost more than thousends €, i see something wrong on them, I mean, they are awesome, very well build, but except the firts warrior bust or the aliens queen bust, not really Alien (film accurated). With the internecivus raptus something the same...I'm sorry but this is not the scary alien that even today I can see in my better nightmares:). 450$ for a "beautiful" figure? I am sure that there should be morebeautiful figures out there than this one and a cheapest price. I expected like you a lot from this figure but being in resine is not equal to be a better figure. This is just my opinion and I am sure that there should be other that will absolutely love this.

The new Alien 1/4 may be is PVC, may be you can see some joints, may be it's not as exclusive as a resine....BUT MAY BE IT'S REAL ALIEN EXPERIENCE 100%. If you like its purity...then you should give a chance to this guy. Don't be afraid for the PVC... It won't bite you..:lol. You will save money. For 100 usd you can always buy the SS new statue if it doesn't satisfies you and sell neca's one. I recommend everyone into this post to visit neca alien figures post and take a look to the pictures it has. There are two diferent versions of this alien and I'm sure it won't deceive you. Sideshow has an excellent marketing department and they always show us their better pictures...imagine these quality pictures with an accurated figure like neca's one...sideshow knows hot to sell this products and how to give them a look of mistery or exclusivity...I would like to see amateur pictures from this new statue...

The main purpose of this is to give to SS a wake up call, to explain them than there are better figures outthere and a better prices. Give us what we want sideshow and a correct prize. Same price for this than for the lsb big chap? We will see... This figure would be fine for 250?.why not more busts like the first warrior??

I really like resines too but i totally pass from this one....waiting for a nice aliens figure this year at comic con...waiting for ripley from Hot toys...

In Spain no one can hear your scream:lol

I saw the non snarling in person and I did not like that effect.. I have seen snarling in videos and I like it much more.. I think the Neca is nice for the price.. But seeing it in person it looks like a toy.... Which it is and the price reflects that.

AS far as film accuracy goes... This SSC version I do not believe is going for 100% film accurate.. Hell one of my fav Alien pieces (Alien Pile) is not film accurate at all. So it depends what you are looking for.

Me personally I just don't want something that ultimately looks like a toy. Accuracy or not. I mean no offence by that. I could see owning it but it would go in my kids room. I had the NECA predator 1 also.. By far the most accurate and I even made a nice base for it but it still had that toyish appearance. I can't paint, so I sold it.

Not hard for me. I like the NECA Alien.. It looks great.. But it also looks like a large action figure.. Those don't fit in with my collection. I have seen these in person so I am not talking blindly here. However for the Price and for the accuracy the NECA Alien is a great deal. The Snarling version is anyways. I hate the non snarling version.

Correct, it depends on what you are looking and also we have different perceptions.

The only thing for me about the neca's that makes me think in a toy is the box and the way neca present its products. At the neca alien figures post you can see some pictures from jacklyn. She expose her closed lips version in a diorama she had build her self and, trust me, it doesn't look like a toy. It's scary... And believe me when I say I hated closed lips version, but after seeing in photos whith correct lighting, with a nice background...it's not as bad!:lol. Photos don't give justice to this figure.

I agree with you that in hand is pvc, so it feels plastic, but if you put in a vitrine with correct lighting it is awesome:). I don't want to convince no body. I really like both resine and pvc, but for instance...i remember that when I have seen the lsb warrior bust in person honestly it feels weird to me because of its weith, but after this first impression, once its exposed with correct light effects..., it looks great.

Thank you for your answer!

Yeah! Closed lips vesion and snarling lips version. These are not my pictures, are from the other post alien neca figures. You can see them in the other post.

You can see at the first photo from jacklyn what I have said before...it doesn't look like a toy for me. She is an artist! The rest of the pictures are the snarling version (thank for the owners of this pictures in the other post!!) and they are exposed in a provisional way... Imagine if neca present their figures like in the first photo from jacklyn...

This figure is 1/4 scale and for less than 100 usd. Nice day to everybody!

I've asked Alex to confirm the weight and plastic over on SF, in the mean time we'll assume it isn't plastic and enjoy this new picture. I can't get over the lean, I don't like it one bit, but the sculpt sure is nice no matter how artistic it may be, the Neca version doesn't hold a candle to it imo.. But then that is a cheap plastic toy.

Thanks for your opinion python but I don't agree with you when you say that ot is a cheap plastic toy. It is an action figure because of their articulation.you can consider it as a toy because of its possibilities, but not me. And if you want to consider it as a toy, for 100 usd it is an expensive toy. (At least my toys were cheaper than 100 usd:lol). Who makes the difference between a cheap or an expensive figure? Companies and people. That's how an alien statue passes from 250 to 450 usd or from 600 to 2000. Anyway toy or figure it doesn't matter, you can give to it the best use you want:)
Thanks for your opinion again and thanks for the nice picture:)

Well thank you for your opinion also, let's agree to not agree ;) I have a few neca 1/4 Predators, they are okay for the money but they do look plasticy and cheap, and joints always ruin the look for me over all. I do agree though that $100 id of course a lot of money to most people. Look at the Neca 1/4 P2 compared to the Sideshow P2 maquette however, it is a drop in the ocean financially. And given how the maquette turned out, not a bad option to take.

I wish this guy stood straight, I really do. But as long as it isn't plastic, I would say the Neca doesn't really compare to it, nor should it as it is aimed at a different audience in a very different price range.

So this is leaning without leaning issues :slap

All jokes aside, the lean is strange but its does look awesome. The base is brilliant.

And the fact the Neca figure is being talked about in this guys company is kudos to Neca. They did an excellent job .
