So i just found out now that Medicom made a newborn Alien, surprised this is never talked about here. I always liked that freaky alien so I think i'm going to buy it, just before i did wanted to hear from my fellow freaks, anyone have it? thoughts?

i always thought the newborn was pretty cool, it had eyes, and squeeled like a baby - scary. does anyone know why hot toys has not produced anything from the movie alien resurrection? just curious

The reason it hasn't been discussed here before is because it's a pretty old figure.

It's from way back in the early days of Medicom's figure making...

Sabres, Thanks for posting the pics, especially the Medicom predators.

When I read all the various complaints about Hot Toys Predators, I often think of that same Medicom Predator and what we use to think was great or worth tracking down.

Our hobby has really come a long way. We have some of the most awesome (but not always perfect) predator and alien figures ever produced.

Someone sold (or still has up) a Medi Predator on the FS section... but Sabes, that Newborn actually looks pretty good for today's standards. Decent poseability, nice sculpt, and the paint apps sure aren't bad.

Great, now I'm starting to consider it. It's a 1/6 piece, right? I'm thinking to display it next to my RAH Alien.

That looks like a repaint to me.
And it's not 1/6 scale, it's probably the same height as most Medicom figures, i.e. just short of 12".

Looks really nice!
I wish Medicom would revisit that figure, they could do a really nice version nowadays.

Well it's 1/6 scale, or medicoms version of 1/6 scale heh, either way looks good enough to me, and with no newborn on the horizon I went and got one off Ebay. i'll post pics here when I get it. How old is the figure?
and wow I had no idea Medicom made preds, and after seeing them I know why.

If i knew medicom made this I would of had him ages ago, I remember even starting a thread asking why hot toys never made him and not one person mentions the medi version.

But yeah, looking forward to adding him to my hive

I would be very surprised if that was the stock paint... I saw the figure a few times when I was in Japan and it always looked awful. But its also a terrible design IMO.

I still have the Medicom Alien and Predator figures though... they totally suck by today's standards, but are still fun reminders of the history of 1/6.

Same height works. Is it really a repaint, though?

heh, i have that alien/predator set. got it at my local comic shop for like $40 back in the day. there was also a clear version of that set. and a glow-in-the-dark version of that RAH pred. there were also a couple clear RAH aliens because Medicom just makes clear versions of their figures for no reason.

Aw, bummer. Know of any places where I can find high-quality loose pics?

EDIT:

Found some of the actual paint job...

Out of curiousity, who repainted that Newborn of yours, Sabes? May I ask how much the commish was?
