picked up the hellboy animated bestbuy exclusive figure, GG really surpirsed me on this, the figure is great! good sculpt, good joints, nice big size (slightly shorter than a DVD box). only draw back are the small legs but that's more due to the design of the character. overall a very high quality figure, and since its a best buy exclusive with the DVD, its pratically free, or about $5.

Abe Sapien Talks Hellboy 2

August 13, 2007 - Director Guillermo del Toro's Hellboy 2: The Golden Army is currently filming in Budapest. Reprising his role as "Abe Sapien" for the Universal sequel is Doug Jones, who also performs two others roles in the film: the Chamberlain and the Angel of Death.

Premiere.com caught up with Jones in Budapest who advised them that Hellboy 2 "is an even bigger production" than the first film. "The original production in Prague was from start to finish longer but I was on it for a shorter time. That was a three-month commitment for me because my role was smaller: Abe Sapien dipped out — for the last third of the film, you didn't see him. In this one, he is a major player from start to finish."

He added, "Abe Sapien was more of a one-note sort of character [in the first Hellboy]. In this one, he is showing more range of character traits. He has got a bit of a love interest this time, which is the first time Abe has ever felt that."

Jones was less forthcoming about his secondary role as The Angel of Death, only revealing that the character is somewhat androgynous. "The Angel of Death, especially, has a poignant, amazing, wonderful moment in the movie — when I read the script, I was just like: 'Damn! I love it!' And I think you could see [the Angel of Death] pop up again within the franchise somewhere. I am not going to say any more!"


CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS MOVIE!!!!!! 2008 is going to kick ass with the new Hellboy, Hulk, The Dark Knight.....
Anyone know if SS still has the license for Hellboy? I'm hoping to pick up more statues/figures from this movie and I'm really pleased with the job SS did with the first movie.

Sideshow were in the thick of it, on the first movie, and I hope, and I daresay they are in it again. Love Sideshows Hellboy figures. Don't know why they got it so right. Was it the collaboration? The intimate insider knowledge and reference material? Or was it that they were in it early and didn't have to rush? Maybe, but whatever, I hope they are able to repeat the process.

I would LOVE LOVE LOVE a Kroenen bust, but sadly I don't think it's going to happen this time around....I have heard the Kroenen plays a very small part in this movie. I am very curious to see what the Angel of Death looks like.....could be hella cool.....wait this is Hellboy...it WILL BE HELLA COOL!!!

I am happy to report that I was finally able to find a 1/4 hand of doom on Ebay. Picked up for 28.01 plus shipping. I wish I could afford the big stuff but will have to settle for the mini for now.

Great news, this will be a good one

Its funny, the first time I saw Hellboy I liked it, but wasn't blown away. But overtime its really grown on me and now I love it rock

It was a shame that Sideshow didn't do anything for Pan's Labyrinth and I hope they make up for it with Hellboy 2 stuff.

I missed out on all of SS first bunch of Hellboy stuff, I still kick myself for not ordering them when I had the chance. Its a line I would really like to catch up with some time.

Hope we get some awesome stuff in 1/6 for HB2.

Ive been trying to get the 12 inch Hellboy for ages, all i can find is the Abe.

You're not missing much. I have the HB and HATE it! Within 5 minutes outta the package the belt broke. It's also too damn skinny. Hellboy has been my favorite comic character for a decade but this is easily my least favorite HB figure...
