Yeah, very interesting points to be taken in consideration.
Now let's apply these to some kind of unrealistic project like...3A's 20'' tall Metal gear Rex figure and let's talk about so call common sense hum.
Cain sure has a load of articulation points, but HT doesn't need to make them all, just liked they did ED209 or the Power loader.
More examples of insanely huge pieces of plastic to defy common sense.

But you're right about Cain balance between heavy torso and skinny legs, that would make a real challenge for HT to produce a durable/poseable figure.
And of course Robocop 2 isn't as popular as Robocop 1 and that may be a real risk for HT to build a figure that expensive.
But whatever, I'm sure Cain would be an instant 'out of stock' winner.
Yes, I confess I don't have much common sense regarding Cain related project: I'm a passionate dreamer...like most of us collector freaks I hope :)
Another example of my Cain crazyness:

Surprised you didn't use the Iron Monger prototype to back your argument that he could've been prototyped. Monger's just as big as Cain would've been. :huh

Well I didn't know about the Iron Monger proto but in the same time I have no interest for it so it doesn't come as a surprise :lol

its not really a challenge at all to make the legs. All they have to use is diecast metal or resin and the upper portion of his body out of a lighter plastic and that would easily support the weight. HT don't use metal(at least i think they don't) so they'd have to use reinforced resin for the legs to support the rest of the weight.

I don't think the issue is the weight support but rather how would they make the legs i.e would they be moveable or how all the components fit together. I mean like the mark 1 theres definetly no way all the components could be made to move, nobody expects that but certainly they could make the main features of cain have moveable parts i.e upper body rotation, head, chain gun, shoulder cannon, arms, claws, welding torch. Maybe they'd make 3 seperate pieces ie legs, upper body and arms and you can fit them all together.

Id just love to see how they would deal with the ejecting screen or the mini gun. That would be interesting to see. Development costs would be high but as with eveything it comes down to economics and if they sold it for a high enough price they would definetly make a good sized profit. The thing is the demand would be huge for a 1/6th cain so they could set the price very high and it would still be sold out. I guess what im sayin is they would defintely make a return on the investments which would offset their production costs. I mean look at the size of the batmobile tumbler or ed-209 which are even bigger in size.

Maybe in the earlier days ht could have seen it as too big a challenge but now i think given some of the other figures they have made and the experience they have gained they could definetly tackle this one or at least make a good effort at it.

Hopefully they'll do something...

In my opinion, the robocop from Figma looks just awesome. Never saw such a detailed and well-done robocop. But that price for this scale.. i can't decide :(

Who are planning to get it?

Awesome pic and I can only imagine what Robo would look like today with HTs quality. If they do another release, hopefully they make it like on the Mark VI with interchangeable parts.

Been a member for a while but never been tempted to post. Thought I'd change that with some pictures of my Hot Toys Robocop (the flight pack version) I'm really hoping Hot Toys redo this series as its been hinted at. Even though the current release Robo is getting pretty old now, it still rocks and it's a great quality figure. Enjoy.

I've been waiting patiently for my Figma RoboCop to arrive from Amazon JP.......but damn it!!! It just got pushed back another month!!

Expecting release date is now September 30th. grrrr.

Really September 30th? PFFT!! I'm still waiting on the NECA figure. Is that still on schedule has anyone heard? (in the uk)

Anyone else gotten the new NECA Robo yet? I found them at TRU last weekend and got one. Definitely a lot of paint issues on this figure.

Mine has paint issues on both legs. Also the helmet didn't seem to be on all the way because you could see part of Robo's nose. I pried off the helmet, put some superglue on it and pushed it down as far as I could. The nose is no longer showing but it still doesn't sit as low as it should.

Just went through some old pages...damn where was I last year when Candyman was building that Robocain! (Oh I remember, I was stuck in the Predator forums) Never have I seen a custom that detailed!

Ah that's great thanks. Here's hoping Neca or Figma do Ed-209 or Caine soon.

The NECA guy that posted a few times in this thread said that he felt their Robo was an improvement over the McF in every way except the legs. He said the McF legs looked better for some reason.

I haven't seen the Neca in person but from the few loose shots I've seen on the net, it looks kinda lousy actually. The visible nose and non-Weller looking face being the most obvious flaws to me. But the head also seems too small for the body, which is the OPPOSITE of the problem the Hot Toys bobblehead had. And he was right....the legs look way too skinny on the new Neca figure.

Again, just my opinion and I'm basing it on pics, nothing in hand, so please don't bite my head off.

I just hope the delay on the Figma means that it's gonna look as perfect as those promo pics.

Has Figma ever done anything as large as ED? That would be sweet if they did one in scale...seems like Neca has already gone on the record as saying they're not gonna do one.
