People should look toward The Chosen Prime or TFsource if they want free shipping on this behemoth, which both are offering. It's going to be a long wait until December, but hopefully Takara Tomy will release some new official images along the way.
Great looking figure, but yeah it's in no way a better MP stand-in than the Takara set and will run you 3x as much. Too small, wrong aesthetics and the individual bot modes look nothing like the characters they ought to represent. In fact I can't even tell who half of them are supposed to be.There's this one coming out but I think it's a bit smaller and obviously not MP style at all in terms of aesthetics.
Looks like the KO version has gone up for pre-order, as posted earlier in this thread. Of course, it may never come to fruition, and quality is a big question mark, but I would guess it's going to happen. Strike while the iron is hot, if you're a seller. Nearly everything gets re-released, updated, or bested eventually nowadays, whether you're talking Transformers, Figuarts Dragonball figures, SSC statues, Hot Toys figures, or even high end, 1/6 scale figures! How many Bill the Butcher options are out there now, since Rainman released his initial figure a few years back?
A change of direction for Badcube,
With Omnigonix Spinout seeming to be stuck in limbo and Takara showing little intention of making Sunstreaker despite having a licensing agreement with Lamborghini for almost 3 years there's certainly a gap in the market for a decent MP Sunstreaker.
The artwork looks good, the chest looks a lot better than Spinout's and the side windows are more accurate. Badcube will also chrome the turbocharger and spoiler as a nod to the G1 toy....Omnigonix weren't even going to paint the spoiler silver.
One thing I'm really intrested in seeing is how well the proportions of the alt mode match with MP Sideswipe as that was one of the most impressive things about the Spinout prototype. If Badcube have matched that as well and the robot mode looks like the artwork they could have a winner on their hands....unless Fans Toys do what they did with the Insecticons and steal their thunder.
Now that's interesting...seriously, seriously interesting.
I will be watching this with great interest as like you I'd love SS in the collection & I was almost going to just make do with Spinout but now this has me sold.
As you said Takara seem to be going off on a weird one at the moment what with the really slow updates & this really confusing Beast Wars announcement (I'm just about to try & sell my BW collection actually) I can't see them touching this or anything we really want so hoping if Badcube do branch this way that along with Fans Toys we'll eventually see Trailbreaker & many more of the line up
